Title: sudden epiphany
Post by: fistfulofmetal on August 17, 2011, 11:41:02 AM: i just had one of those epiphanies where i looked back on a past events and realize something i hadn't realized before. so i thought back to 11th grade. there was this girl that i had known pretty well. early on i had just seen her around and she pretty much caught my eye immediately. i thought she was in a grade lower than me because she was hanging out with other students that i knew where from lower grades. it wasn't until she showed up in my biology lab class that i found out she was actually a senior. a perfect kind of coincidence happened because not only was this the first girl in high school i was fond of and she ended up being a part of my team for lab. perfect yet we became friendly instantly. it was cool.
now here's the thing. i definitely liked the girl but what i just realized now was that i'm pretty sure she was into me as well. from the very beginning she was kind of all over me. always with her hands in my hair playing with it and whatnot. always leaning up against me and shit. this went on for quite a while and didn't pick up on any of it. eventually i'm going to assume she lost interest because of my lack of interest and moved on. we remained friends but she started doing that another guy. i never realized that i could have very easily turned that into something. there's one moment in particular that i remember that sticks out. we were in computer lab. we always sat together every day. one time this boy approached and asked me for something, don't remember what it was but before he left he asked directly if we were together. now it was the reaction to the question that i remember. i specifically remember the look on her face. the kind of wonder that comes over someone when they are trying to decide if the concept they are thinking of is good or bad. and from what i could tell she seemed to think positively of the idea. unfortunately i did something stupid and blurted out that we weren't and nothing came of it.

what i find interesting is that even though much has changed for me since high school, i'm not sure that if i was presented with a similar situation again... would that result be the same? who knows. but it's interesting.

I remember having an epiphany years back. I was talking to an old friend from High School and she told me she used to have a crush on me (she's now a lesbian). Then BAM, it hit me. It was so obvious. She used to give me rides home all the time. Ask to come up and watch some tv with me. Sit awkwardly close to me on the couch (all I thought was uhhh, there's another couch totally free, wtf are you doing here?) A few times when I walked her to the door she'd just stand there awkwardly. D'oh. She was waiting for a kiss, a move, anything! I was 15 and she was 17. I was stupid.

Probably happens all the time, but you don't know what to look for. Like if you stare at girl for 5 minutes and she sees you and shivers and tugs her top up and turns away, that means she's totally DTF.

her hand would go up from behind my neck into the back of my hand with her hands all through my hair and sometimes scratch the back of my head. it was pretty cool. i remember that. i was pretty stupid in retrospect. and lennedsay. shut up and post some epiphanies.

I was sort of reluctant to go because it was raining and what I really wanted to do was read 'Dead Souls'. So anyway I get dressed, pay for my own damn ticket and then when we reach the door there's cover charge. My friend pays. Then I pay. The door bitch looks me in the eyes and says, 'Tip?'. I shrug my shoulders no. Then she says, 'No tip? How about you suck on this?' and trys to hand me a pen shaped as a purple penis. I sort of gasp and get pissed off. I still am pissed off but as soon as I hit the club I realised she might of been hitting on me. Anyway my friend and I step out to get something to eat and while she's talking to him she's looking all :-* to me as if she fucked up. Then I realised yeah she probably was hitting on me. She was good looking too.

Eventually we went to Senior Prom together and danced etc. but I still didn't make a move. At some point after that I told her how I felt, in that I was interested but wasn't sure where we stood (accidentally, the old accidentally sending a draft email thing, for real, ha) but it was too late, school was almost over, we were going to different schools, and what was the point, at least that's what I gathered... Or maybe she wasn't really that into me after all.

I wasn't really ready anyway, heh. Girls grow up faster in general, yet they wait for you to make a move. Yet making a movie can be super creeper.

Oh well... at least I'm not single now!
