Silent Hill Book of Memories from Wayforward
At the company's GamesCom press conference, it revealed that Book of Memories is a top-down co-op multiplayer shooter. Players create a custom character at the outset and all receive a book full of memories, which they can rewrite through playing the game's levels. It's expected to include weapons and guns from the entire series, including signature monster Pyramid Head (Sorry about earlier. Still adjusting to the time zone).

we had some good times together konami, but i think its time for you to go

I'm not a big fan of Wayforward and the concept sounds horrible so I have absolutely no faith that this will be good.
-
Sounds like something that should be XBLA/PSN.

I really hope it was cheap to make, and sold on PSN only for $15.
I appreciate that they're trying something new, but this literally has nothing to do with the franchise and it would've gotten a better reception if they dropped the name. It's not doing them any favors.
I really hope this is not the type of game they'd test the Vita's viability with, because I can tell them right away and save them some money.
Edit:
Since Konami was willing to contract Wayforward for a game, the obvious choice of franchise to explore was Castlevania. Too bad Konami derped.

Of course it has Pyramid Head, why not? If you're going to completely eviscerate a franchise, no sense doing it half way.
-
Silent hill had a good run, but all things most end.

Looks more Xbox 1 than PS3, like most of the other games shown at Gamescon.

And after it tanks on Vita, it will be.

Well chrono lots of companies do an exclusive to gain attention, then go multi. Dunno if it pays off, but you do stand out for a while. At least thats my theory!
-
They do exclusives to gain dev money, timed exclusives to get a little less dev money. Or free advertising from the console manufacturer, depending on the size of the development.

Filthy xfag :wag
True but what does that have to do with my statement? Even Sfags like Khan thought the Vita games looked shit.
Sony overselling a system's capabilities? Who'd have thunk, right?

silent hill was cool for like the first three games
it's not even bad that they've moved away from actually making a scary game, its that all the games since have been mindless, half-assed shit. silent hill was great because it was creative and original; making a franchise would inevitably kill it. its just that instead of repeating the formula until everyone got bored and moved on, konami decided to let no-talent devs create these amateur imitations and totally destroy the sh brand.
-
Meh I liked the psp ones.
-
played zero and it was fun but...unnessecary? i think it was the only game to actually "get" the stealth type of gameplay that sh1 was going for, but it didn't update the formula enough and ended up feeling old.
