You guys don't get earthquakes much, do you?
Interesting how a 5.8 on the east coat gets tons of national news coverage. A 5.8 out here on the west coast would be given only a few minutes of time.
the news is acting like the US is under attack.

That was interesting. Definitely the biggest I've felt, as I've lived in VA my whole life. People in my office were initially pretty confused but we figured it out by the end of the shaking and went outside to see what was up (and get out of the huge structure). I didn't see any damage, though one thing on my desk did fall over!LOL
Quotefor japan, it's a tuesday
yeah, i think Cormacaroni put it as something like "if you are tweeting about it , it's not a real quake" concerning some of the larger aftershocks we had.
But yeah - i remember my first quake here (in the 6.0 range) - i was at work and i pretty much shat myself - i'm sure if people aren't used to it it would give them a bit of a jolt. Heh, i still remember how i felt during the "big one"*
* - wasn't actually "the big one" that Tokyo is overdue.
Never felt a quake before. I'm hearing all is cool though with you guys, phew.

fistful, update the thread title to "hurricane"We got this. Hopefully it showers the stench off Jersey.QuoteI'm in the red zone.purple zone, motherfucker
Meh, that was the most chickenshit "hurricane" that I have ever experienced.
Smh.
After Ike, I learned to prepare. For the ten previous years we were warned about hurricanes every year and how each one would kill us (Especially Rita right after Katrina) but when one actually does hit and cause the damage they say it will, you learn to prepare just in case. Having no water or food or gas for days is no joke.
