Thumbs up!

How hard is it to get going? Im fine importing the game, just wanna make sure it works iz all. Im emulating my ps2 games these days too. Stupid late model PS3- USELESS
-
I didn't have any problem getting it working, it's just that apparently you need something around an i7 CPU to run it at proper speeds.
-
wii emu is actually really good and people are constantly working to make it better. you dont even need THAT good of a comp to get t running smooth
just wish theyd get the xenoblade working perfect
-
Also, Xenoblade, with its wide open expanses, is more playable in HD. It's kind of a shame that a game of its scope is subjected to Wii hardware.

Is it as easy to set up as PS2 emu? My rigs beefy so im not too worried.
-
The only problem with emulating the Wii is the dumb waggle controls. I tried mapping the controls on a 360 controller and it was a mess. I know the Wiimote works on the PC with some tweaks but I'm not sure about the Nunchuk.
-
I just wanna play xenoblade and see what TEH FUSS is all bout
-
Xenoblade works with the Classic Controller, so it's easy to set up.
-
Well I know what im importin next paycheck
-
Xenoblade looks really nice in HD.

I really need to get a bluetooth adapter and play Sin & Punishment 2 on this. I'm sure it's glorious.

I must be some kind of blind because these hd screenies never do anything for me. Like, xenoblade looks ugly no matter what res its at

Well, with Dolphin, you can always feel free to enjoy it in it's original resolution if you want.

Ugh, it looks SO TERRIBLE in its native res.
-
Has the music been fixed on the emulators? I might just get it on an emulator if it is.

HD makes a world of difference in terms of playability, and this is specific only to Xenoblade at the moment because I haven't come across any other game yet on the Wii that relies so heavily on having a good view of your surroundings and being able to discern the various pips in the mini-map--which, when playing the game on the Wii, is hard to do. I'd go so far as to say you're doing the game a disservice by playing it on the Wii.
Think about it, would you drive a car if your eyesight was fuzzy and jagged, and you could barely distinguish signposts and landmarks? Because that's what gaming on the Wii is like. So why subject yourself to that experience when playing this game (and this game specifically), with the scope that it has, where every tiny pip in your mini-map is a point of interest; where every hazy outline in the distance could either be a friendly npc, or a hostile, high-level monster.

i don't understand why guys make so much fuss about HD gaming, you played in normal definition since ye olde playstation era and it was never a problem so...
graphic whores,all of you!
-
2D sprites were good enough for the Atari 2600, so they should still be good enough now!!!
-
I need a new PC but I want that AMD Bulldozer.
Dammit AMD, so slow.

the difference between SD gaming and HD gaming isn't certainly as pronounced as 1986 sprites vs 2000 sprites graphic
and i only wish we had game today with sprite graphics that kicked some ass like in th.....

No, I'm sorry, it sucked then too, we just didn't have a choice. Now we do. I think I'm gonna go buy a wiimote and bluetooth adapter. And Jerry Rice and Nitus' Dog Football (http://wii.ign.com/articles/119/1190962p1.html)

Well, I don't play these types of games usually, but I have had this kind of problem with wii multiplayer fpses, which could be easily solved by say, having contrasting colors applied to enemies/foes in the distance. A developer needs to take these factors into consideration.
I guess its always going to be a moot point for me as long as large hdtvs aren't in dirty poor price ranges. I thihk 720p sets are affordable but I really don't get wowed by hd stuff unless its 1080p high megahertz stuff.
-
Joe, don't be a pirate poor. Buy the games you like, like Xenoblade.
The rest is ok.
-
I'm playing Xenoblade on Wii with component cables and while not as good as on a high end PC with Dolphin, playing with component makes a really big difference over composite. UI is totally crisp, couldn't see much difference to when I tried on Dolphin (I tried on my i5 MBP @720p but it isn't quite up to it, it ran ok in game, but sound chugged and cutscenes ran badly), of course everything else looks a lot worse but because I don't have any other option I'm dealing with it fine, I'm still amazed at some of the technical feats they achieved on Wii hardware.

Those screens look great but I refuse to use a piece of software named after my most hated animal ever!!!
