Hey doods, what are safe temps for my rig to be running at? I'm using SpeedFan to monitor temps and these are the specs of my comprutah:
AMD Athlon II X4 645 processor (3.10 ghz)
4 gb of ram
Radeon 5700 with a gig of ram
Any input? Keep in mind that I'm pretty much an idiot with this shit.

there's no temp for the pc itself. each part can/will run at different temps.
and there's no normal temp really. it depends on the activity. my CPU idles at ~ 52*C probably goes up to like 60 or 70 when playing games.
my video card runs at around 60 idle. I've seen it go to 80 at peak.
edit:
run speccy: http://www.piriform.com/speccy
to find out the temps on your cpu and hdd's
for the video card, if you have the CCC installed you can go to the overdrive section and it'll tell you the temp there for it.

Yeah, I meant cpu and gpu. My cpu apparently idles at around 40*C and I guess seeing it go up to 50+ while playing a game a bit ago just freaked me out- guess I shouldn't worry so much.

it's fine. overheating isn't really an issue nowadays. at least from what i've seen. as long as you have the stock case fans in there and you aren't overclocking, you're fine.

- Depends on how much cooling you have
- Depends on how thick of a cock your PC has
- Depends on how much friction you rub your cock
If it doesnt smell like it's on fire, and if anything "weird" doesn't happen... the PC is fine.

My cpu idles around 40-45c. It never really gets too hot, but the cores can hit 60 if I'm playing games.
My 5770 idles around 50c, and hits 60-62 when I'm gaming on average. I haven't really played games when it was super hot in my room though. Download GPU-Z to track your temps. It reads about 1-3 degrees higher than CCC but that's alright

No worries unless it's over 85-90C.

Alright, guess the little "fire" icon on the SpeedFan display when it got over 50C was nothing to worry about. Gonna go back to (for some reason) trying to give DA2 another chance.

yup it just means temps are increasing, which is going to happen during gameplay anyway. Check your average and highest temps; I'm guessing you're as paranoid as me about this shit.

Thats a pretty horrible graphic to use for heat increases within passable limits- FIRE

Seems high for a 5770, mine used to idle around 36 and get into mid 60s on load. The 5850 I have now is around 43 idle/65-70 load.
-
again, if it ain't breakin' 90C, there's nothing to worry about.
