Title: The guy next door just went to jail for having a grow-op lol
Post by: OptimoPeach on September 14, 2011, 10:00:00 PM: I came home from work to find my power off. It turned out the big breaker box that provides electricity to like 1/4 of the street short-circuited and caught fire. The workers said that at the moment they had no idea what the cause was, that it would take a couple of hours to fix, that they had to wait on materials before they could start, blah blah blah.

Now we skip ahead to 30 minutes ago. In repairing the problem, the workers discovered that the guy next door actually spliced into the shit and was stealing electricity to apparently power a nice lil weed factory. I had suspected he was growing for a number of reasons in the past. Anyway, long story short, the crew called the foreman, the foreman called the sheriff, and the sheriff put the neighbor man in the back seat of his patrol car after he realized he was fucked and tried to just nonchalantly back down his driveway and dip out with like seven people (including the sheriff) standing in front of his house. They're searching the place now

I really wouldn't have cared so long as he wasn't selling out of his front door, but the guy was a dick so HA HA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX7wtNOkuHo)

The equipment in a grow op does not use THAT much energy unless you're well... growing 200+ fucking plants. What a dumbass.

That's 3w per bulb with 100-300 bulbs per panel at least :lol

And a 1000 watt panel will cost about 1000 bucks if you find a great deal. You can get a 1000 watt HPS or MH for between 400-600 bucks. But you grow better with less wattage on an LED and so it's not quite fair.

Get a space heater and a temperature controlled plug that will shut it off at a certain temp. Anything over 80 degrees will cause them to stretch. You don't have to start worrying about temp until the 50's. The 60's are completely fine, though not ideal. The 70's are perfect. Low 80's is a bit too warm but will still do. Upper 80's is too warm, supplement with c02. Anything above 90 and you need to figure something out.

Flat white paint is 85-90% reflective and mylar is cheap as hell and is the best solution.

bat guano is a good nitrogen additive though.

200 plants is overkill just because it's greedy for one guy. with those kinds of penalties, Boogie I can understand why someone might take the risk up in Canada. but not here. with that many plants you start needing industrial ventilation systems, professional temperature control systems and atmosphere control (c02, etc). No way can homeboy keep it a stealth grow. Anyone who walks into his house knows what he does I bet. Not even that but with 200 plants that's a full time job now. I'd imagine it's a SOG setup so he's probably harvesting at least 10 lbs every 2 weeks. Between checking the water condition from all the different systems (if it's soil then it's even more time consuming), checking plants for diseases or signs of problems, correcting any issues such as ph imbalance or overfeeding/nute burn, burnt out pumps, trimming, FIM'ing, topping, LST'ing, repotting, changing water, harvesting/curing and rotating grow stations this guy has no time to work so he has no alibi for his money. And he lives in a state where he could very easily get a license to grow! Idiot, idiot, idiot.
