I'm just wondering.

5% is high already? Don't the best companies only have like 3%?
-
5
In a company of 5, this would be a disastrous turnover rate.
Seriously though, I'd say turnover rate should factor in what the turnover rate is after N years, and what rank of employee are leaving. If a company is losing 15% of its new hires, that's bad, but it would be really bad if they're losing even 10% of their mid-range staff, people who've been there for a few years, but for whatever reason won't stay with the company.

I was just wondering if a 33% turnover rate for a department would be high, considering everyone there would have been employed between 6 an 24 months.
-
Yes, unless it's QA, in which case that is low. :-\
-
Not QA or CS.
-
33%? Rats, sinking ship, ect.
-
33% is probably normal if you're going to be washing dishes, picking strawberries.
-
That is extremely terrible, regardless of the industry.
-
Total red flag

Guess a place I know well has a huge problem then.
