(CNN) -- Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has died, a State Department official told CNN on Friday.http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/22/world/meast/saudi-arabia-prince-dead/
There were no more immediate details about his death.
Crown Prince Sultan, thought to be in his 80s,, was the minster of defense, and was one of the top figures in the Saudi kingdom. He's had various medical issues in recent years.
In 2009, he was in New York for surgery for an undisclosed illness. At the time, there was speculation that he had been suffering from a serious illness.
He has also flown to Morocco for more medical treatments.
Well not all of them. Faisal was pretty badass, Abdullah wants to do some good but is too old so no one takes him seriously. Sultan here had cancer or something like that, and I won't lie in saying I dreaded the thought of him ever becoming king.
wasn't Fasal THE member of the House of Saud? He was the one who T.E. Laurence joined with to help the Arabian Peninsula free itself from the Turkoman, yeah? or is this a living member
:wtf
Edit: Might as well elaborate. The Faisal you're thinking of was a Hashemite (who fought with the Sauds) who went on to be the first king of a newly formed Iraq. Faisal was fighting with Lawrence against the Ottomans, who controlled much of the Middle East at the time, not the Turkomans (Turkmen?) who inhabit Turkmenistan and some of the surrounding areas.
