Post by: Bebpo on October 27, 2011, 02:02:45 AM
please stop making these threads

and i mean this for your own good

I like to document my drunken approaches to one day overcoming my extreme social anxieties and talking to a girl that I have not met through Internet means.  One day I will say "hello" to a girl in the flesh and I life will be simple from that point on. Once I get over the "hello" hurdle I will fall into love, relationships, marriage, kids, soccer club, and all that.  But I need to get to the point where I can say hi to a random stranger and even after 30 years I just can't do that yet :/

I hate to break this to you, but no.  No you will not all of a sudden have everything you want after you somehow sac up and actually say hello.  Shit doesn't work that way.  Stop thinking it does.  Life is not a fucking movie, you twat.

Now the good news:  it will get easier after each one.  And really, who the fuck cares?  You should listen to Cajole and stop making threads, though.

Fuck you creepy man, you're just a dickwat in every thread.  Some people (me) need an AA style group to help them overcome their irrational faults and live a normal life.  My friends, my fellow EBorians who I love like a 2nd family, are that to me. And so yes, it helps to make threads and get feedback from those I respect and trust.

You pretty obviously need therapy, not the approval and unlicensed advice of random people on the internets.  Go get help and stfu in the meantime.  Seriously, that's for your own good.

Btw, I hereby name you creepy old asshole, because you are a JERK.  Stop being so negative because your own life sucks and you don't tell anyone.  We're a loving forum, you can let it all out here and we won't judge.

Listen you fucking fey dipshit, you don't know a damn thing about my life.  I could be happily married with two fucking children for all you know.  I'm not and wouldn't want to be because ew fucking kids, but the fact remains:  this is not your trust bubble where you can come and get affirmation for all the dumb shit you do, like going out to bars when you can't talk to girls and expect some sort of magic to happen, just like in the movies because gosh gee willikers life would just be fucking swell!  If you do stupid shit, your asshole uncle Triumph is going to be here to verbally smack you upside the head and rub your nose in it.  And I'm not doing it because I care, I'm doing it because the stench of your vinegary mangina is enraging.

If you seriously can't talk to a woman you don't know, get some fucking therapy dipshit.  F'realz, it helps.

I like Bebpo too, but Creepy Old Guy is right that there's no magic moment where everything turns around. It's just drive, and effort in the service of that drive.

I do too but it's like watching a dog chase his own tail.  Bebpo isn't really interested in fixing this problem and that's become clear to everyone at this point.

I rather like Bebpo's approach to the board. You all could learn from it. You guys will regret it when you are down on your luck and nobody is there to help you.

Sugar daddy Bebpo will be there to give you a hand, because everyone else turned their back on you.

I give this thread an 8.0. Not an Uncharted 8.0, but a 3rd party Wii game 8.0, where you're like "Woah, I guess this game is actually really good!"

Throw out your anime and your PS3.  That should be the first step.

The thing is you're probably like me when i was younger Bebpo. I took it all WAY too seriously, so when i asked someone out if i was rejected i'd take it as some soul crushing defeat (though i'm talking younger than 16 here but anyways)

It's just something you have to go in to with a smile on your face and when you get a knock back you have to roll with the punch no matter what. Hell, my wife knocked me back EPIC style when i asked her out but i just carried on trucking like it was no big deal despite the disappointment :)

The best advise is that it really -isn't- as large a deal as you think - and when you talk to a lot of women they'd be flattered to be asked out regarldess! It's a two way street - plus you are now a rocking professional and it's not like you look like a muppet!

So get that big pink lovebat out and start swinging!*

I know it's easy for sophisticos to say, but i'm -not- actually one of those smooth operators! I've been in the same mind set as you, just let go ...

*This does not mean whipping out your penis in a public place.  That's a common rookie mistake.

Anyway, if you'd just listened to Kate Bush's Hounds of Love record on repeat for a few days like I told you, you wouldn't have these problems. It's in the trees! It's coming!

i much prefer the Futureheads cover of Hounds of Love.

As do I. So much fun to play in Rock Band, too.

Really the only thing I know by Kate Bush:

I (along with every other progressive house DJ) caned this one more than a Singaporean criminal back in 2003.

what does "cane" mean? does it just mean "play" or does it mean "play to excess"? also, here's a second Kate Bush thing for you to know:

Hounds of Love the song is probably one of my least favorite songs on Hounds of Love the record, though. I mean it's one of those songs that starts great and you keep waiting for an awesome chorus that never really comes  :( Plus it comes right after Running Up That Hill which it has kind of a similar feel to, but isn't as good.
