It sucks?  The game is made by Snowblind Studios, who did Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and both Champions Of Norrath games.  I was planning on picking this up later on when it's on sale cheap.

I haven't played it yet, but probably. IGN gave it 7, said it was a generic hack-n-slash. Sometimes that's all you need, though.

OH.

I can't see how Snowblind could have fucked this game up, although it probably feels no different than those PS2 games they made did.

I got it, playing solo, so far generic, mediocre. it's ... fun but it's EXTREMELY MEDIOCORE. I played like a hour and a half and it's basically > run around hit a bunch of crates, get locked into a room and either bash shit or get onto a mounted turret > rinse and repeat. There's loot so maybe that's why it's addicting and not totally shit tier but it's bland to look at. Get it for $20. Unless you get a chub every time a talking owl is on screen.

The combat is fun but weird (atleast as the warrior) and the UI is shit atleast on PC. But it doesn't help that the AI is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged and won't get on a turret if you don't and sometimes will sit there for no reason when all you want to do is move on.

7/10 from IGN, huh? That's basically a 3/10 anywhere else.  :-\

It got a B from 1up. Having finished DUNGEON SIEGE III, im sure I can manage this one. Source content alone makes it more interesting.

Well, it's got hacking, slashing, lewt, and talking eagles, seems pretty awesome so far. I don't know why you guys thought this game was bad.

it's decent fun. loot's okay to great, hacking and slashing is meaty, co-op is apparently slick. shame about the quest and level design, and the lame skill sets, but this *is* a snowblind game, after all.

no he's your summon like a final fantasy guy. games not bad just DO NOT PLAY& SINGLEPLAYER it is fucking terrible isngle player. The AI is dumb. It can get boring though and the UI is awful, they never indicate theres more quests than the main one (for example I found out if you go to Bree and talk to people you get side quests, the game  never mentioned that). Mix that in with the game doesn't auto level the AI so you're stuck with level 1 companions throughout the whole game unless you go through the really messy awful UI to level them individually by restarted the game every time they level up. That said it's fucking fun and i'm having more fun with it than unchated 3.

A: there is a sprint button. It's the RB button the 360 controller
B: the AI won't levle your AI buddies so make sure you switch to them once in a while to level them up. It's stupid.
C: if you're on PC I'll play with you if you add me on Steam, Methodis.

The game is really much better in Co op. You can actually spend money on gear and it's actually fun because the AI isn't stupid.

I just made it to the citadel.

If you want to get a lot of lewt/money right there, there's a town portal right when you enter the citadel and a chest, and if you go back to town the chest respawns. You can spam it for infinite stuff.

Honestly- I had more fun with Hunted: Demon Forge. This game is so 'going through the motions' its not even funny.

tharzog fight made me nearly break a controller. total garbage. who playtested this shit?

the tharzog fight is ridiculous but the next boss is pretty much a WoW boss, with AoE attack and everything.

It's a shame the game relies on the "lock you into a room for waves" mechanic. But it's super fun regardless.

How long is this game anyway? The map legend has a bunch of locations but do you actually go to all of them?

Im getting tired of the 'turret rooms'

turrets are only in the first chapter. first boss is an abrader-grade FUKK on normal -- i had to restart on easy

I beat him on normal with a lot of rolling- it was very close though. but the barrows fights are wearing me down, just too many enemies and I'm not doing enough damage to make up for my useless partners.

Finished the game on normal- by the time I finished the game I think I liked it way more than I did two hours in; for all its flaws its paced well and fun MOST of the time.
