The latest Limp Bizkit album is exactly what I expected- Wes being awesome with the guitar, Fred being a douchenozzle. And I loved it. Album of the year material.

- I've downloaded more 80s synthpop and new wave this year than all of the previous years combined.

- I've been watching quite a bit of the Big Bang Theory.  I don't care too much for the show but the wails and screams from the Community fanbase over a stupid fucking TV show made it watchable for some reason.

- I fell off the low carb/paleo bandwagon for about two months now.  I've gained about 15 pounds, almost all of it fat.  Granted, I need to gain 100 more pounds to be Willco fat but I definitely notice that I feel like shit and feel wiped out by mid afternoon.  As much as I'd like to blame my 70 hour work weeks, I was working those hours before without deviating so I have no excuse.  Carbohydrates are now my biggest guilty pleasure :-[

Yeah I went to a free Talib Kweli show in Central Park (my friend wanted to go) and was surprised at the number of white kids there. I actually liked some of the 'backpacker' rap that came out in the early 2000's (I was living in Buffalo, a very big hiphop city, at the time), shame that Pitchfork and other hipster-outlets had such a backlash against it.

Yea, to me it's just an infinitely catchy, great pop song. I have a feeling Minaj could be around for awhile, as she's busted out the gate appealing to wide demographics that Lil Kim did not

Actually I disagree. Lil Kim was a pretty good rapper and is well respected; I'm no fan of her albums but I can't deny she was one of the best female rappers. While her first three albums each went platinum I don't believe she had nearly the mass appeal Minaj has right now; she's basically a pop star who happens to rap. Super Bass has almost 200 million views on youtube, was a smash hit, her album was a top seller last year and is still selling, etc.

also in terms of comparison, both had people write most of their songs

(I'll admit I've played a few Guetta tracks on occasion - "Baby When The Lights Go Out" and the instrumental of "Little Bad Girl"... I don't like Guetta because I don't particularly care for him as a person, not to mention I find a lot of the hiphoppers he collaborates with to be awful)
