Then the next book is where the entire series falls apart.
Memories of Ice is where the DBZ superpowers start to filter in and the series becomes basically that show with better writing. Then the next book is where the entire series falls apart.
wtf? Memories of Ice is probably the best in the series.
And yes. Coltaine is easily the biggest badass in the entire series, which is saying something. Quick Ben is awesome too, but in a different kind of way.
Karsa Orlong has the best lines in the entire series, easily. My personal favorite has to be when he's about to fight Rhulad and he tells the erstwhile Emperor of a Thousand Deaths, "I will kill you... once."
Trull is good, but I think Tehol Beddict might be my favorite character.
meh, not enough dwarf romance for me
Is he better than Rand?
Anomander Rake was pretty f'n awesome too. Really, Erikson just excelled at creating awesome ass kicking characters and letting them, you know, kick ass. Onos Toolan in the last couple books is a good example, when he's not being a whiner anyway.
Maurice- sorry there was no underage fuckin' and horny dwarves.
Planning on getting into this series now that I finished the Song of Ice and Fire and Kingkiller Chronicles books released so far, is this one done?It is, but I'd stop about halfway through. The series gets so convoluted after House of Chains it becomes a slog. And I still pushed through it because every now and again interesting characters would surface, then disappear under the crushing weight of a billion other characters with a billion other narratives.
You talk like it's the Twilight series. Get a grip.how in the world did I do that? It's just a superbly disappointing series crushed under its own narrative. It's still leagues beyond Twilight.
