I am wary of bird protagonists ever since I was traumatized by Midori in Ocarina of Time. 

Belaram doesn't fly in out of nowhere and suffocate you with walls of text does he? 

Midori was the scariest part of that game.

Apparently you have the option to call in Belaram in the last fight, though gravely injured, to attack the last boss; think it kills him tho. If you dont call him in you are SAVIOR OF BEST SUPPORTING CHARACTER OF THE YEAR
