I'm surprised no one said Pulp Fiction yet. That soundtrack really opened my eyes to a lot of good music from years past that I hadn't explored yet.
I used to love The Saint's soundtrack, back in the day. But I was taking copious amounts of ecstasy and GHB and may have influenced my opinion.

Purple Rain OST (Obligatory Sound Track).
-
much better
-
Shit yes at Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Scene where Knocking on Heaven's Door plays is so good and I always thought "take this badge off of me" and "guns in the ground" and such were like really heavy metaphors or something but all of a sudden it made sense, it's about people shooting each other to death.
-
much better
Also, the Under the Cherry Moon OST is pretty good, even though the movie is unwatchable.

That song is cut out of the director's cut completely. And iirc, the song is played in that scene in a re-cut for DVD, but without lyrics. Both cuts are vastly superior to the theatrical version otherwise. The song's lyrics are probably too literal (which could be said of nearly every single song on the soundtrack), but I think it works better with them.

I have no idea now which cut I actually saw. I guess it must have been the theatrical one because I remember the scene with lyrics? But the studio cut is supposedly butchered and awful and the movie I saw was 100% brilliance. I don't even know anymore.
-
edit: Reading up on this a bit, I'm all mixed up; not even sure which damn versions of the movie I've seen. Might have never seen the original theatrical cut and only the 2005 version and director's cut, which I'm confusing as the theatrical and 2005 version, respectively. :dizzy

Sounds like I need to get serious about watching whatever cuts I haven't yet. Great movie regardless.

How the FUCK did I forget the Hackers soundtrack? Probably my favorite movie soundtrack of all time, it's a who's who of EDM in the 90's:
Original Bedroom Rockers - Kruder & Dorfmeister
Cowgirl - Underworld
Voodoo People – The Prodigy
Open Up – Leftfield (feat. John Lydon)
Phoebus Apollo – Carl Cox
The Joker - Josh Abrahams
Halcyon and On and On - Orbital
Communicate (Headquake Hazy Cloud Mix) - Plastico
One Love – The Prodigy
Connected - Stereo MCs
Eyes, Lips, Body (Mekon Vocal Mix) - Ramshackle
Good Grief – Urban Dance Squad
Richest Junkie Still Alive (Sank Remix) - Machines of Loving Grace
Heaven Knows - Squeeze
