Title: Free year of shoprunner -2day shipping from online stores/free dominos delivery
Post by: Don Flamenco on December 02, 2011, 11:44:18 AM: They have free 2 day shipping at a lot of online stores, but it only works on certain items. It's like meta-amazon prime that isn't quite as good. This is probably a desperation move, so we'll see if it gets better over the next year or if it goes under. They have a spot for your credit card info, but you don't need to enter it. It also works if you've done the free trial, then canceled it (I did the trial, canceled, and it let me sign up.)

They also take off Domino's delivery charge, so I signed up. Dominos just happens sometimes, even when you live in chicago. The delivery charge is always the deal breaker when I'm thinking of ordering, so this is nice.

it's going slow, but some guy who owns the company said they are going to keep it open all day on Facebook, so keep trying.

And that he didn't expect the surge of interest. They ALWAYS say that- "We're giving away our useful, enticing product for free-- who knew our servers would crash derp?"

competing at the level they do, for the everyman pizza consumer, it seems to be more about marketing than quality. and the "we've taken time to improve our product and make it higher quality" angle doesn't seem to work ???

they need "goofy" ads with special agent guys throwing pizzas at ninjas, along with a slogan with an "ironic" (yet still subconsciously registering) appeal to masculinity if they want to stand a chance at that market.

edit: discussing dominos marketing, this is the heart of procrastination right here :lol

Unfortunately marketing and consumer sentiment have usually taken their foothold already. The new Domino's actually is pretty damn decent for chain pizza

there are but...dominos...happens. it's like mcdonalds, sometimes you just crave it because it's been ingrained in you since birth.

not to mention, the better local chicago pizza runs me at least a $5 premium. Free delivery for dominos means I can get fed for under $10. or just get stoned and have them deliver 2 lava cakes and cinna stix without making it expensive.

And here in Houston 99% of the local places seem to get their ingredients from the same vendors so it all tastes exactly the same.

I like to find a nice middle ground where every once in a while I treat myself to an expensive classy meal and sometimes I'm stuffing my fat face with Taco Bell. But most of the time I'm making homemade buffalo wings or grilling some chicken.

Well, I have some qualms with forms of abortion but that Fetus Special just hits the spot. Especially after a few drinks.
