Well, I got a code, but I don't have a PS3.  Sort of wish that I did have one, since Warhawk was a very special type of awesome. Anyone want the code?

Got an email from Sony. I think people who participated in the Warhawk beta are automatically selected for this one.

they felt it made the warhawks too overpowered in the original which is a shame since i spent the majority of my time in one dog fighting and quickly hovering mid flight to kill fleeing jeeps which had our flag.

yeah, I read a lot of disheartening impressions.  it sounds like they wanted to balance it more for infantry play for some reason.

a few of the disheartening impressions i've read did eventually turn into positive ones after a few hours of play. i'm still skeptical since i really couldn't care any less for the base building aspect.

I only saw the initial posts on gaf.  I'm just not thrilled at the direction, and likewise don't care about base building.  I liked Warhawk because it reminded me of Crimson Skies mixed with  Battlefield; the air combat was the real charm of that game.  I was hoping they would expand on that in the sequel, with jetpacks (full on jetpacks, not just the jump/hover packs) and an array of air vehicles.  I have a key from Uncharted 3 for a later beta.  I'll try it out and hope it's still fine, but of what I've seen/heard, it's not really want I wanted from a warhawk sequel.

and Crimson Skies Xbox was so much fun.  Apparently the closest thing to it is that Snoopy game.

On the upside, the Warhawk beta was kind of unique to console beta tests this generation as it was actually about testing the game. There were a shitload of major changes made between the beta and the retail release, so Dylan & Co. don't seem to be above totally re-evaluating their ideas based on player feedback.
