Jesus FUCK
_ Some of the install processes, have, no lie, taken longer than the downloads. I could feel myself getting older as Infamous installed.
_Pain, a shitty game that I thought two kids might get a laugh out of whereas it makes adults want to cut out their own eyes, has the most ass-backwards update process ever - download 3 updates, install, takes eons, start game, hey lookit we got a lot more updates dude so sit back and curse the day you were ever stupid enough to buy this and oh hey btw can't cancel out of updates!
_LBP has it beaten, though. Nearly 40 (FORTY) fucking minutes of updates and installs. Eat a bowl of dicks, sackboy.
On and on and on, man I had forgotten how shitty the PS3 can be about the most basic things. I've been doing this shit since early this afternoon.
How can anyone defend this kind of base incompetence unless they're a slobbering lunatic?
Merry Christmas. Santa brought me a fucking common cold virus. At least he brought it early.

hahaha oh wow
-
man, even bullshit like pixeljunk monsters has updates
-
Its ok, they fixed it
o wait Vitas are locking up already

-
typically the update experience is:
"I want to play this game"
*DOWNLOAD 9 INDEPENDENT PATCHES*
"I don't want to play this game anymore"
-
Forgot mandatory installs
-
repeat that a dozen times and that's been my afternoon/evening
-
yeah, more and more that has been my inclination
-
try playing hot shots golf if you want the full experience
they patch a fucking single text mistake, you gotta download a 5 gigabyte patch from sony's slow-ass servers
Why are the patches so large?
I have a PS3 but I have yet to take it online. When I get it directly connected, I'm afraid I'm going to have to spend the next week downloading updates.
-
No I didn't.
-
Remember GameCube/ PS2/ SNES?
Plug 'n Play?
But you all wanted console to be like PCs with online & patches & shit.
HAHAHA
ive never had a 360 update take longer than 15 seconds
-
PS3 is worse then the Wii imho.
I mean with with the Wii you know what youre getting but there are people buying PS3's expecting the next gen experience only to have a console thats inferior in almost every game or function it has to the 360.
-Mandatory long shitty updates
-Worse fps in almost every game
-Longer loadtimes (in fifa its seconds difference zzz)
-Worse looking multi plat games

HAHAHA
i remember tossing out games that shipped with shitty code because there was no way to fix them (Super Empire Strikes Back :maf )
-
X-wing section (i think? whichever space flying section) froze up on a bunch of copies I got. I remember dragging my mom to TRU to exchange it a few times before they just gave us credit. Got Super Metroid and Art of Fighting with the credit :rock
edit: millenium falcon section where you have to blow up tie fighters
-
wow, can't find anything about this being a widespread problem. maybe it was my snes?
-
Infamous took longer than that for me, and LBP took overnight. I am not even remotely joking.
Sony has spent all of the goodwill they earned from me during the ps1 and ps2 eras.
-
Little Big Planet is the only ps3 game I've seen with worse or comparably bad patching as hot shots golf. I just want to show someone a level two Christmases ago and couldn't even load the game for 3hrs or so.
-
LBP was the first game I played on my PS3 and it was possibly the worst first experience I've ever had on a console between the fact that the patching was fucking unbearable and the game itself wasn't really my cup of tea.
-
I wouldnt even fucking care about the bullshit patches if they let me do it in the background without the disc being inserted. (Fuck off im not paying for plus)

Yeah, you shouldn't have to pay for patching that just works.
