You beat me to my thread!
Anyhow, I'm gonna be LAME and use the old fashioned method of text communication.
Bebpo's Top10 of 2011 (not necessarily year released, but year I finished it in)
---
1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Tactics Ogre Director's Cut or whatever you want to call it (I normally don't count ports, but this had enough new redesign to feel like a new title)
3. Portal 2
4. Catherine
5. Super Mario 3D Land
6. Hamilton's Great Adventure
7. Akai Katana
8. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
9. Infamous 2
10. Jamestown / Gundam Musou 3
Although, I didn't play a lot of games this year to be fair. Only beat 57 games which is about half of the previous year. Having a job now does that to me. Notables from 2011 that I didn't get to finish so they didn't have a chance to be included:
Witcher 2, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Gears of War 3, FFXIII-2, FF Type-0, Tales of Xillia, Ni no Kuni PS3, Dark Souls, LA Noire, Rayman Origins, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Deus Ex HR, Dead Island, Trine 2, AC Rev, Gemini Rue, Radiant Historia, RAGE, Serious Sam 3.

Looking back, I have to say that 2011 was the worst year of gaming possibly ever for me. Maybe it's because I didn't get a chance to play all the really GREAT games that will be regarded as classics for years to come, but like in 2010 there were so many 9.5 or 10/10 games, stuff like Mario Galaxy 2 or Trine which are both near-perfect games to me couldn't even crack that top10. 2010 was insane and full of quality. Outside of Portal 2 and maybe RDR, I don't see any of these games I listed being remembered for years to come. 2011 had fun games, but was really lacking in memorable industry-shaping classics.
I don't really have a top 10 or good memory
1. Deus Ex Human Revolution
runner-ups: Skyrim, Dark Souls, Zelda Skyward Sword -- still need Witcher 2 and Two Worlds 2 top off this fantasy fever. Other stuff like SR3, Batman AC, Infamous 2, etc.
I like most games I played. Notable disappointments were Uncharted 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2, though neither is bad. LBP2 because of the Vita game. Uncharted 3 because it's a worse game than Uncharted 2 in every possible way, and a pretty wide gap between the two. See, possibly the only good addition to Uncharted 3 was the ability to throw back grenades, but they fuck it up by adding this hard to see micro-game on the grenade ala Gears reloading. Step forward, three steps back.
Backlog games I'll play after immediately after Skyrim: Shadows of the Damned, Bastion, and maybe Catherine (don't own it yet). Bastion demo wasn't great but it has a lot of praise; could be another Braid or whatever (not a good thing).
Also need to play Portal 2 co-op.
When does U3 nosedive? At 50% so far it's as good or better than U2. The stages are as good, the combat is better than, and the story/characters are just a touch worse. I love how they beefed up melee since I did U1 & U2 basically 75% melee running around punching people instead of shooting and now that's even more viable. I hear the final chapter is rushed and game ends too soon, but halfway through it's as good as U2 and Goty type quality. Not seeing where any of the negativity is coming from.

THE PIRATE SHIP IS AWFUL. JESUS HOW DID THEY LET THAT IN THIS GAME (>_<) Worst section in all 3 Uncharted games so far.
That guy was annoying because I didn't have the Silver Sword and such, which surprise, I had to look up a guide for. The first boss is much worse.

I didn't buy it :x
