Title: Lil' Gundam has launched
Post by: Mr. Gundam on February 13, 2012, 01:18:11 AM: My daughter was born Saturday night at 7:25pm in Seattle. 6 pounds, 11 ounces and 19 inches long. Full head of brown hair with blond tips. Seriously.

We got home from the hospital about an hour ago. Let the sleep deprivation begin!

My wife did 100% natural childbirth. No drugs whatsoever. She's one tough woman. Our POS nurse kept pushing pitocin and an epidural on her, but Em, myself and our doula politely told her to fuck off.

There'd be those nights where I'd think everyone else was a whiner because he would do what you've described, but then there'd be those nights where all you craved was some sleep, and after hours of cycling through various things trying to get him content and ready for sleep, you'd see him close his eyes, tip toe back to bad, and then five minutes later he was up again seemingly recharged.

Three months ago I would have wanted to punch you in the face for posting crap like this. But at some point during his fourth month, it all started to come together. He can still be a little fussy going to bed, but once he's out now (anywhere from 10 - 12), he's out for the night (well, he needs 2 to 3 feedings a night still, but he goes right back to sleep when fed).

I was unfortunate enough to be in the hospital friday morning at 4am when someone was giving birth in the room next to me. Sounded like the most horrific/traumatizing thing to go through so mad ups to your misses' for doing it without any drugs.

Sadly it traumatized my misses so I don't think kids are on the plate for the time being :'(

My daughter had a fine little peach fuzz all over her body for the first month or so. It was hilarious. I used to make jokes about shaving her.

God damn! I've been seriously contemplating natural childbirth, and then I remembered that sometimes, your taint rips or the doctor cuts it before it rips. And then I almost threw up. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, as I've had daily widespread, chronic pain for the last 20+ years and rarely let it affect my day-to-day tasks, but that's quite a step beyond what I'm used to, taints rippin and all that.

I've been threatening to poop on the table though. "Whew, I'm so glad I didn't poop on your bed or anything, doc!" and just wait for the awkward looks of, "Should we break it to her or let her go on believing?"

Sleep-deprived daddy who hadn't showered in 36 hours at this point (and some crazy ass bed hair). Em's water broke at 4am Saturday morning so I got out of bed, threw some clothes on and went straight to the hospital.

It was a mixture of crying and smiling. The tears lasted probably 20 seconds and then I was all smiles. It was a really cool, almost surreal, feeling.

However, it turned out to be a moot point as she had to have a c-section.

I don't know. I think if it were me, I'd want to be as medicated as they could possibly make me.
