Title: Bore help me out [Baseball question]

What is the best baseball game out these days? Was playing Basewars NES and wanted to try newer stuff. Sims and arcadey games welcome, just specify which side of the fence the game you recommend me falls on.

I've always been interested in The Show, and it seems to be a fan favourite. Never gotten around to trying it though. I have Football and NBA for my sports fix

The only sports games I still play are F1 games. I used to be a Pro Evo fan back in PS2 times but that series went to hell.

The Show is the best sim baseball game by a huge lead.  Problem is it's a Sony only game.

The Bigs is a mix between sim and arcade.  It has power ups and zanier quirks from arcade games but it's all grounded in realistic enough Baseball that requires skill.  Sort of like Baseball Stars 2.

For pure arcade, baseball for children games there are those power pro games.  I have the one for Wii and I think there's a PS3 version.  It's straight up RBI Baseball from the NES.

Um, there was a Mario Baseball on gamecube that wasn't great (mario soccer was great, though...random thought).  There're 2K Baseball games for all system, seem sim like, but I have no personal experience with them.

Anything like a Captain Tsubasa game for baseball? With weird special tiger shots and stuff?

The show is good. A slight bit overrated but still solidly good. The 2k baseball games never delivered and the license will probably open up next year as their exclusivity deal ends.

IIRC, 2K wants out of the exclusivity deal as it's simply not worth it for them to continue the series unlike their NBA game. I saw something a year or so back that they were somehow losing money on the MLB games.

Not sure how that is, but then I have no experience running multi-million dollar publishers into the ground.

MLB The Show and Power Pro Baseball (JP import) on the PS3 are both fantastic.
