Mainly, they just tweaked the graphics, and added a few extra little things, like you can hide the HUD.

this is something I'll get down the road during a steam sale.  already own the main game and DLC on 360.

now I'm wondering if I should get American Nightmare next week on 360 or wait that out

Maybe you should, Oh I don't know, email them about this?

Also, you can hover the cursor over your username at the top of the screen and then select "Keys" which will show all the keys for the games you've bought there.

Yea I emailed them about it. Hopefully they get back to me as I never played the 360 one because I was waiting for the superior PC version.

which one are you telling me to buy? PC version or American Nightmare? if any, I'm leaning towards American Nightmare.  I didn't care for the main Alan Wake game compared to how much I really like the DLC.

Not a single new polygon, not 1 meter better drawing distance.

Pathetic.

Why do you care? You don't play PC games.

game looks great. all the motion blur effects work so much better when the image quality, resolution, and framerate aren't in the dumps. i'm maxed out and average around 50+fps

Oh the CE doesn't have any extra content? Why bother then.

i dont think so, and if it does it's prob not worth it. I read you can always upgrade to the CE later anyways.

hmm wondering if my 5850 will cope
Title: Re: Alan Wake: Master Race Edition
Post by: fistfulofmetal on February 16, 2012, 10:17:10 PM
not at max it won't. the game isn't a texture beast but it has some of the best stock AA and image quality I've seen in a long time. seeing jaggies in gameplay is almost impossible. plus the lighting is bumped up considerably. i didn't catch screens, but the parts near the beginning where you're walking through forest with the bright white light shinning through the tree's looks really amazing. no weird dithering or artifact in the god rays at all. that stuff taxes the system though.

my 6850 should do fine tho hopefully :)

games running at literally 1 FPS or less no matter what setting I put it on. What a shit port.

Something is wrong with your drivers, or video card, or PC. I have a 6870 and it runs fine.

The game doesn't look amazing or anything but it looks ok. The animations haven't held up as well.
Title: Re: Alan Wake: Master Race Edition
Post by: MyNameIsMethodis on February 16, 2012, 11:51:52 PM
I figured it out, the game hates manually turned on AA in catalyst center. I turned it off and it ran fine. Get about 35-40 FPS on high settings with my 6850.

I forgot how much I like this game, it's too bad Microsoft had to fuck it over every way they could. Not being open world, killing the originla PC port, no marketing. Still af un game. Controls are fucking goofy on PC because youre using the flash light to "aim" but fun and much easier. I'm actually exploring for thermals and manuscripts now since i'm not nervous i'll die by loggersi n the dark.

Game is pretty in game but holy fuck why didn't they still not fix the horrendous pre-rendered cutscenes. Those also look wayyyy worse then I rememberd them looking on Xbox and the in game graphics look better :piss.

Wish steam compression didn't suck, what do you guys use to take pics?

Also what kind of game is maerican nightmare supposed to be
