Its like Remedy where ignorant of the fact that the reason why Alan Wake wasn't super amazing was the shitty combat and they instead decide to focus on combat :psyduck

Thanks at least for not quoting him. Murdered-in-the-digital-realm settings don't cover in-line quotes.

In-line quotes are the 'wails of the damned'.

Played for about an hour or long enough to finish the first area. Seems fun enough. Definitely an XBLA budget scale project but enjoyable for the atmosphere and mood Remedy is able to create.

Looking forward to downloading this when I get home. So far I'm liking the change to Arizona.

There is a groundhog day conceit in this game. That's kinda how they pad it out and create the length of the game and the budget. You essentially go through it three times ( 3 location scenarios) with minor variations each time.

I'm sad I read the spoiler, because I always do it without thinking. But the truth is, that makes me want to play the game more, so I guess I came out ahead.  :-[

Beat the story last night. They make you play it essentially 3 times, but each time they do, it gets shorter. So don't worry about having to fetch items again. And they change up the enemy placement.

It felt like a basic DLC, I guess the third DLC for the original Alan Wake would make sense. It explains a bit about what's happened since then.

I enjoyed it, but I would also say I enjoyed the previous 2 DLCs more.

Havent tried Arcade mode yet. Most of the achievements are related to this mode.

not sure if i want to wait for pc version or not. hearing impressions leads me to believe that there's definitely some worth while content but it's not a must play so i'll probs wait.

Fun title. I think the combat is improved which is nice since I didn't especially like it in the original. I also like the fact that its of xbla length so I'll actually finish it. The music and sound design is exceptional.

My biggest complaint is also inherent in what I like about it. The small narrow scope of the title.

Finished it. Fun little diversion. Nice side mission.

I just did all the achievements except kill 2,000 Taken. The "Survivor" and "Poetry in Motion" achievements are pretty ballsack. Survivor not so much.

It's an easy 200, I think.

Watch this guy's videos, I used them to get the two hard ones.

thanks for the link, that guy is hilarious. Will give the Poetry in Motion cheev a shot today.

I wrapped up the main story and got all the manuscript pages. I loved it, it was a perfect extension of the first game, and a great length and price. It clarified what was going on with Alan even more than the first 2 DLCs, and set things up for AW2 nicely. I love the extended arsenal, nice to blow away some losers with some REAL FIREPOWER.

Mr Scratch is awesome. I loved how he's a badass who gets the mad puss while Alan just talks to the babes and gets all emo and stuff.

Gonna work on mopping up the 200 over the weekend

Poetry in Motion is one fucking cunt of an achievement, 10 seconds left on the 10 minute clock and some grenade splash damage nicks me, screwing me out of the cheev  :(
