http://harkavagrant.com - Historically-inspired insanity [best webcomic ever]

http://www.oglaf.com - NSFW fantasy porn comics

http://pbfcomics.com - Employs lots of irony and insanity, mostly dead now

Is it against the rules of the internet to plug my own stupid webcomic? OH WELL BANNED FROM THE INTERNET.

http://www.blowthecartridge.com - suggest an old video game, I will make a comic about it

http://www.funnywebcomic.com - breakfast radio hosts, perverted chocolate bars, tales of being a boring old man living in the suburbs.

Anyhow, Olgaf looks cool. It took me a while to find the right feed link though.

I used to read Questionable Content and Diesel Sweeties before I had less time. BRENDAN BREWER is ace though.

Love Hark & xkcx, and sad that PBF is dead :(

Achewood was the best before whatever happened to Onstad happened.

xkcd and Questionable Content are really vile.

I stopped reading explosm a long time ago. I only really liked Rob's work, but now anymore. Either he changed or I changed.

Also, leasticoulddo is drawn a flaming homosexuals/bronies. Deadly combo.

i <3 you tehjaybo, but i hate ANY gamer/nerd comic written by a man that stars a largely female cast. it's wrong on SOOOO many levels, wish fulfillment being the worst and, errrr, i can't think of the best, maybe the implicit white knighting of the whole gender?

This is my current list of subscriptions:

Excluding the ones I added last night, I dislike 70% of that list.

The only consistently good comics on that list are Modern World (when my foreign brains get the references) and Hark A Vagrant.

I understand that, but I think that's part of why I like them.  It only makes sense that it would appeal to me to read about things that I would like (I.E. Largely female casts in my life, etc).  Also, some of the storylines are really good in these.  Like LICD recently had a depression storyline that was a more serious humor note, which appeals to me as I have some severe depression that runs in the family, and I've been having to deal with lately.

Everything that I read appeals to me in one way or another.  I think they're funny, I enjoy the art style, or I just enjoy the stories.  I would think that is the only reason that anyone would read any kind of thing such as this.

I'm just glad that no one reads this piece of shit:

Some of my friends used to LOVE this, and every time I looked at it, I had NO clue why.  Take three unrelated B&W pics, put some stupid unrelated sentence fragment over each one, hit webcomic.

Yeah, most of those vidgame gag comics are just dreadful. There is an amazing amount of real comics work available for free but I guess that's not what this thread is interested in. I meet my daily gag strip needs with the Fantagraphics Krazy Kat editions I keep in the john :heart

There was a webcomic aimed at the Sex And The City set which got picked up by the Washington Post for their print edition and it's soooooooooooooooo bad.

Ugh I know it's so awful but you read a bunch of it on accident and then you make a book mark and you're fucked because you use to fill time you're procrastinating instead of getting out of bed so you read the same horrible distinguished mentally-challenged shit everyday and it never ends

I'm currently stuck in a cycle of dr mcninja, questionable content, xkcd, dinosaur comics and hating myself.

"women are geeks and complex, too! best of all, they are JUST COMPLEX ENOUGH FOR YOU AND I TO RELATE TO. also nintendo is awesome! remember the nes?"

It's a whole genre! Artists who spend 12hrs a day staring at a blank piece of paper wondering why they are so depressed. It practically defines alt comix. I actually asked Alan Moore why he'd never taken a stab at this stuff in that video chat thing....his answer was great. It boiled down to - I am too outsized and odd a personality not to overpower my subject matter. (it didn't sound egotistical when he said it, because he is fantastically eloquent). Those with undersized personalities and nothing of interest going on in their lives and no interest in genre stuff but who happen to be awesome at drawing are basically doomed to chronicling the boring minutiae of their dull little lives, it seems.

For the unaware, Horrocks did a long run on DC's Batgirl back in the day so there are obviously strong autobiographical elements there.
