Pandas will just make the game more popular, I don't see the big deal.

What's far more important is whether this will be another paintjob or whether the game sees some major improvements in terms of gameplay, end game, etc. I think it's safe to say Cataclysm wasn't received well overall; yea it sold a billion copies but it the game is losing players in record numbers. I'm not saying WoW is going to die, just that it's time for something refreshing to liven it up if possible.

The end game blueprint of a couple raids, some dungeons, and a few dailies to do a billion times has to go.

I don't play mmo's so I'm probably speaking out of turn but I'm not sure why some people make a big deal necessarily about the slow decline of WoW. It's an inevitability I would think. That's why they eventually will come out with other mmos. I mean this idea that WoW would go on forever only seems like it came about because the game was massively more popular than they ever thought it would be in their wildest dreams. Even at its slow decline it will be profitable for what. 5 more years. Is 10 more years out of the question. I mean hell Everquest is still around. When people say they need to "freshen" it up, I tend to think as an observer of someone outside the genre, you aren't meant to play one game forever. Of course you burn out eventually.

That's a good point but the game still has 10m subscribers, you'd think Blizzard would be concerned about ensuring as many stay as possible. Considering there are at least 2-3 more expansions on the way, including the upcoming one which is rumored to be huge, it's safe to say the game is still a major priority for Blizzard. My problem is that they've kind of stomped their blueprint into the ground causing a lot of the older players to lose interest; why not try to breath life into the game? The next expansion has a new class which is definitely a welcome addition, I just hope we get more interesting content that isn't just the same thing over again.

This comes to one of my complaints in general about Blizzard and how they support their games after release. SC2 has been out for more than a year yet lacks many basic support features that WCIII had at launch. The chat UI is still archaic, you can't create clans, you can't create tournaments on BNet, custom maps aren't supported as well as promised, etc. Blizzard's approach to the game seems to be based purely on balance for 1v1, and of course there's debate over whether that has been successful. But everything else, from team games to custom map design, has pretty much been ignored.

Instead of supporting the game, they're holding gamers ransom: many of these features which should have been out by now will most likely be included in the expansions. The community is already beginning to slow down as MOBA games get more popular, I fear this will only continue as Blizzard ignores everything except 1v1 (which to be fair, is the only matchup I play religiously - but there are many folks who love team games).

Why would you need to buy it when everyone on EB is already in the beta? ???

Diablo III is something  that we should have made if we didn't want to be moving back in with our parents until we're XXXIII.

Funny thing is, Dota 2 supports all those features (and LAN).  :teehee

Which makes their trademark shenanigans all the more infuriating.  They weren't even interested in Dota until League of Legends blew up and Dota 2 will likely blow up.  Acting as saviors of the community who are protecting the trademark from evil Valve annoys me.

I understand Blizzard's argument on LAN and while it's annoying, it's not a game breaker

Their response to MOBA/Valve has been pretty hilarious. They really missed the boat, now want to act like sore losers in court smh. Interestingly Vale and Riot are really fostering healthy communities whereas Blizzard is like "whatevs" to sc2
