I'm enjoying this quite a bit. The graphics are really clean, almost like Vesperia.

Just started the tween arc (cause we know there are no adults in these games).

The game post Kid's arc has been really good so far, especially now that the combat system has opened up and the voice acting is more tolerable. The Hard mode in this has just the right balance of difficulty for me. The bosses I've fought so far required lots of dodging, keeping teammates alive, and paying attention to what artes you use. It doesn't feel like a chore that Vesperia and Symphonia did where it seemed like they just ramped up the enemy health. I also like that even 8 hours in they're still teaching me new mechanics and is constantly giving you stuff like stat boosts and titles.

The battle system is pretty good, unlike Vesperia or Symphonia where you just slash slash slash, this game doesnt allow that for the most part. So you have to take your time and let the gauge fill up.

Still figuring out the little things about it.

Yeah, the combat is really good; probably the best battle system in a Tales game.  That + the really good title growth system makes it a great game on the gameplay side, which is why we all say it's a good game.  The story never gets bad enough to detract from the gameplay fun either.

And yeah, for a while now I've felt Tales games are meant to be played on the difficulty above normal at least, so you can actually build combos and stuff instead of enemies dying before you can do anything.

Combat is great, definitely a high point in the series.

That said, I'm ready to be done with it at 20 odd hours. "Adventures Through Forest Land, Desert Land and Snow Land" has worn out its welcome.

I don't think so, nothing extravagant. The future arc has a dungeon where you swap between two parties.

More bland than not. I sort of liked the Rockgagong dungeon, just because it mixed things up a bit. Some of the better designed dungeons are ruined by invisible walls with "I don't think we should go this way yet" messages.

That requires me to play through the entire game again (normal arc) for 20-30 hours just to unlock the 6-9 hour new arc at the end.  I like Graces, but I don't really want to replay it this soon.  I think the save is locked too because of the DLC.

how was xillia, bebpo?

*hasn't bought graces f yet*

anyway, is the future arc handled at a separate game or does it continue progress from the main campaign? if it's the first one, couldn't you just download a save.

btw, neither here nor there, but I hate how you can't download saves on the vita anymore.

It's a separate game, but like I said, I'm pretty sure the saves are locked because of all the DLC integration into your save file.  I should double check.

Xillia is ok, I only got about 5-8 hours in.  Planning on getting back to it before the summer.  It definitely seemed way worse than Graces in every department except maybe Story.

alright, cool.

If it works I'm thinking I can just borrow Graces F and play the adult part only.  If the kid stuff and story is uninteresting, and the future arc is good, might as well just play that.

I think you're a bit confused, so let me clear this up.

Main game:
2 hour "kid" arc
28 hour adult arc

Future arc:
8 hour arc that takes place slightly after the end of the main game.

I'd like to choke whoever designed the last bit of this last dungeon in F Arc. The endless zig zag back and forth. Pretty much tops off my feelings about the game's dungeons.

Eh, the dungeons were no where as bad as Legendia or Innocence.  Those two had loooong linear winding dungeons that were boring as hell.

Graces dungeons aren't great, but they aren't bad either.  Just kind of average.  Didn't play any of the future arc ones though.
