I could think of a million other PSP RPGs I'd rather have in America than this one. Starting with Tengai Makyo: The Apocalypse IV PSP edition, 7th Dragon 2020, Frontier Gate, and Valkyria 3.
Victor is why we don't have a Lunar 3. Fuck him.Leper Vic Ireland
too bad it's shitty
Up to $5000, another Kickstarter triumph. :bow2Link to the starter? i cant be arsed to browse for it
I really don't understand why they're not just funding the localization of a game that people are actually interested in, instead of a pointless deluxe edition of a game no one cares about. They'd need far less money [presumably] and something like that would actually have a chance of success.
lol, the game is coming out anyway apparently, so I'm kinda like "ok... why would i want to kickstarter this."
Custom gold-sealed letters acknowledging pledged hardcore JRPG support from Victor Ireland
I notice in the GAF thread that Vic is bagging on Game Arts for not being able to make another Lunar game these days, which is PRETTY NERVYREALLY? He'd stated before that after WD dissolved and he lost the Lunar license part of the terms was he couldn't say shit about the series.
He said, "It's not to say Game Arts can't do games, it's just that with all the behind the scenes (and some on the stage) drama, a true LUNAR is unlikely. They're just not the same Game Arts as LUNAR days, and key partners in the process are sued into oblivion (Studio Alex) or pissed off."Oh, well that's just the sad truth of the matter I suppose.
Nobody cares now.
Ugh. Moe blobs :yuck instead of "The Last Ranker" or "Valkyria Chronicles 3..." >:(
Man, Victor should be doing this on PSN (instead of HURP DERP PHYSICAL) because PSP games can be ran on the Vita. Now is the perfect time to strike on putting JRPG's up on Vita before that gets more games that people overlook the PSP back catalog.
I can't say for sure on Last Ranker but I can with a high degree of certainty say that Victor Ireland could show up with 300 hot young virgin women, 75 golden camels, a fan-pleasing ending to Mass Effect 3, the Caramilk secret, and an entire bank vault full of cash, and SEGA would still tell him to go fuck himself sideways.
I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but Victor Ireland did his absolute best to publicly rub his dick and balls in SEGA's face for like five years or more. He has no friends at SEGA. At all.
Nobody cares now.
I don't care about Victor's shitty translations (Melrose Place references), yeah. But I do care about collectors packages that are a labor of love instead of "LOL TWO NEW PIECES OF ARMOR EXCLUSIVE!" that they've turned into this generation. Too bad collections ship has sailed and people should be getting on the digital distro train for JRPGs to even be thought about in terms of localizing.
You can't really say that with the type of shit you watch, Great Rumbler.
The move probably wouldn't have caused much in the way of hard feelings if he hadn't, in usual Vic Ireland fashion, carried on like SEGA raped his mother in every fucking interview for the next six or seven years after. All because they tucked his booth in a corner at E3. He's an unprofessional infant and pretty much anyone who's ever had to suffer him won't be lining up for a return tour.
Nobody cares now.

I liked really cool collector's editions with tons of stuff in them, too, BACK WHEN I WAS 15 YEARS OLD.
Oscar, in that Kickstarter thread, Vic mentions something about "SEGA being a lot more receptive to his idea than he was expecting". Probably doesn't mean anything though...

can I get a kickstarter for a translation of that tingle game about sexual harassment?
There's no way he's going to make it at this rate. We've got our first failed "industry" Kickstarter here.
Someone has to do a kickstarter to hire a team of ninja assassins for the purpose of impeding Vic Ireland.

Why? He's doing a pretty good job of that himself.
312 backers at the $59+ level.
Well, at least now we have an answer to the question "how many people still fondly remember Working Designs?"
Really? You must not have spent much time talking to PC gamers.

If this were for the PS3 version, I'd fork over $59. As it's for the PSP, I have no interest, even though I own one.
I'm even more picky. If this were funding a title to reach the US, *and* it wasn't a fucking mediocre piece of shite, then I might have chipped in.
Also, please note that for the physical version of the PSP game, you need a PSP capable of playing North American region PSP games.
lyte catches on quick
These days, every time there's an Indie Bundle I get 4-5 games (the ACTUAL games!) for under $5, and the soundtracks too! $20 for the digital soundtrack? What the fuck is Vic smoking?
it's like fans of Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey funding a Seventh Seal sequel
I was/am curious as to how Wasteland 2 could even be made at such a low amount. I'm expecting an indie-ish level of visuals (Bastion is the best case scenario) with good writing and gameplay, but still, that's stretching the development budget quite a bit, isn't it? Doublefine's game could also have naff graphics, but that doesn't really matter for its genre.
