Didn't realize this ran at 1080p. Looks really nice.

That's about the only thing going for it. Tutorial in the demo is all fucked up since it only has the first lesson for all four "segments" unlocked. So it jumps from basics, to like mix-ups, to combos and doesn't fully explain the "basics" like they said it would. Along with (at least on the PS3) button-checking is fucked up since you can't change the "combo" for tag 1 and 2. How they hell they fucked this up when Marvel vs Capcom would/should've been the floor to build from, I dunno. But you've got Tag 1/2 on L1/L2 and like HP/HK on R1/R2. Can't change it to where Tag1/2 is on L/R2 and HP/HK is on L/R1. :-\
Seems really screwed up from the "long" development process. I'll be skipping it for Guilty Gear and Virtua Fighter is they come out in the summer like rumored.

I dunno, I just jumped right into story mode and kicked some ass and it was fun.
Then again, these days I barely play fighting games and don't play them at competitive levels of play. I just did fireball motions, DP motions, hurricane kick motions and figured things out as I played.
You also forgot to mention the music, which is freaking awesome. I totally forgot they got Michiru Yamane for this.

That's just for the demo...everything is available when you buy the game and they DID do a good job explaining the game play. You'll be able to do some big combos by the time you're done with it.

I'll have to check that button config issue. Maybe that's demo-only too.
Nothing is "screwed up" about this game other than the glaring lack of an in-game movelist, which is just :lol :lol :lol in 2012. But they say it will be patched in.
I played a bunch of this game tonight and after getting used to the way the characters moved, jumped right in and was able to pull off some crazy combos. It's a very accessible game that looks jaw-droppingly good, has online play that rivals BlazBlue (lag free!), and has a fantastic soundtrack to go along with it.
They just need to polish a few things and it needs more characters, but DLC is coming.

The game is now confirmed to be getting the move list patched in and Mike Z also confirmed a PC release too!
-
pc release awww yeah

Pretty game.

Did a run through story mode with the ryu type character.
This game looks and plays better than the majority of Japanese fighters! :lol
I like how you can pretty much chain anything in the game. It's very casual friendly and fun rather than punishing. None of the timings are strict and the game has a lot of free form combo potential. The moves are all pretty basic and standard too so it's easy to figure out how your character plays.
Very impressed. Hope the game does well. Would like to see them extend the roster over time to become a larger sized fighting game.

Yeah, the lack of movelists in the demo is REALLY glaring.
I miswrote: There is a button config, but you can't change the button for tag 1/2 from LP/LK MP/MK to a dedicated tag button like you can in Marvel 2/3. Marvel 2/3 has Tag 1/2 be "assists on tap, hold to change" IIRC. Which throws me off because I'm too used to having MP/MK be "focus" or "throw" or whatever fighters generally put on it.

I double-dipped and got it on 360 too.
I think the PS3 version is better- has faster load times and I seemed to encounter issues with connecting to people on 360, where as on PS3 it everything went smoothly.

PEACOCK IS ULTIMATE

Bloody hell the load times on 360 are terrible
