Title: Contacts missing from Windows Live Messenger

So I installed Gothic and it locked up my PC, forcing me to turn it off via the power switch. When I rebooted my Messenger contacts list was all fucked up, I assume because something corrupted. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the program, doesn't work. What do I need to delete or whatever to get this shit running again.

Aren't contacts stored server-side? You could try installing a superior client like Pidgin (http://www.pidgin.im/) or Miranda (http://www.miranda-im.org/) and see if that works.

Seriously though, I don't know. I've always had issues with msn. I agree with arch, try out pidgin or trillian.

thanks for the suggestions, tried all that and nothing, the person isn't on the live website under my contacts, i will have to get them to add me again i suppose

i guess it fucked up or corrupted because i had a chat window with them open from last night

weird

i will start using a backup chat program, though
