It is SUPER white- but since I live in the suburbs and dont want to drive to the city to find out of the way places- its better than ARBYS

If I want a sammich I go to Firehouse.
-
Firehouse Deli? Is it good? I've seen it- just has so much theme firegear fucking everywhere ive avoided it
-
I love their subs. They've also got a ton of different kinds of hot sauce that you can use at no extra cost.

You got something against real American heroes? :punch
-
I just dont like theme restaurants- feels all weird; I just want a sandwich

I entered this thread thinking it was a general bread thread, but I see I was wrong :'(
Damn you mericans :usacry
-
You can talk about bread in here
-
Have you guys had Ciabatta recently? It's a flat bread that weighs a ton and is usually garlicy. Delicious stuff, had half of one with cheese and ham last week

So you go into a fried chicken thread and want to talk about sushi, but come into a bread thread and are afraid to talk about bread ???
Goddamnit

Seems like this is about a fast food chain though ???

Rice is the only starch I put in my body. Westaboos lose again.
-
Went to Panera last weekend with my mom and aunt... they like the place, to me it just seems overpriced, kinda bland, and not very filling. The fuji apple salad isn't bad though. Right next door to Panera is a good Jewish deli though, should have went there instead and get a pastrami on rye :drool

White rice makes you pretty fat if you go on eating it non stop though, a carb is a carb. Brown rice would be a better option if you are a heavy rice consumer.

It ain't easy being named Arian and having a thing for Jewish girls. :-\

Prices dont seem that bad to me- unless of course youre factoring in the 'coulda made this myself with bulk ingredients' factor than yeah over time you'll save quite a bit.

when have you ever cared about the price of ANYTHING

Im just trying to understand where hes coming from!
Also, I have to admit while I once was a retail employee ive completely forgotten how to be thrifty :(
-
Fuck Panera for getting rid of the Pepperblue Steak sandwich.
McAlister's is much better anyway.

Almost forgot:
:bow Asiago cheese bagels
-
They sell those? Are they boiled?
-
McAlister's is much better anyway.
agreed but still overpriced
-
Not a fan of Panera at all. I prefer Whole Foods' sandwiches honestly
-
and Olive Garden
-
Panera is all right, but always feels like it's too expensive for what you're getting.
The best sandwich place where I am is this little Italian grocery. They make the best subs out there. :drool

But they don't make sandwiches. Dunno dude, Panera's bread is annoying :'(

???

Takes too long the chew. I shouldn't need a hacksaw to eat a sandwich
-
Annoying bread requires chewing!!!!!!
-
Never been to a panera, has always sounded boring to be honest
My wife loves St. Louis Bread Company. Me? It's a place to eat.
-
best chain sandwich shop is Boudin's (http://www.boudinbakery.com/)

:drool Ciabatta

Panera's virtually everywhere around here. Decent enough stuff. If I'm out I'm probably not after a regular ass sammich that I could just make myself though.

same; food is nothing special and their bread SUCKS. like pd said it's like eating wheat taffy. i go there because there's one nearby that takes donations instead of charging regular prices, but even if i take a loaf for free i feel like i'm getting ripped off. i'd rather just stick to bunny bread.
-
I'll eat it occasionally. It's always consistent at least. Never fails when I'm out with my mom though... "Are you hungry? Yea? Ok let's go to St Louis Bread Co!!!" :-\
However, their souffles in the morning and their frozen mocha drink.... :bow2
-
I've never eaten at Panera Bread, in spite of Panera Bread being as ubiquitous as Starbucks these days.
-
It's ok. I like it less with each visit though.
Their soups and salads are kinda depressing, but I guess I can't hold that against them since they're not called PANERA SOUPS AND SALADS .
-
Salads are fine- my main issue is just the lack of variety in sandwiches- even so; half a sandwich and tomato soup is good eats
-
In the few times I ordered them, the vegetables didn't look or taste fresh at all, and they charge upwards to $7 for it. SMH.
-
Salad I got today was fine so I dunno- not worth going if where you went to was that bad though
-
Yeah. I keep telling myself to go back for their specialties, like the pastries. Which I think are fine for the most part, especially in the morning.
-

Firehouse is solid. Founded by former firefighters, they donate to firehouse charities. They also have cheaper buckets than Home Depot or Lowes, $2 pickle buckets. And they are in the process of outfitting their stores with that new 600 flavor coca cola machine :-*
Should give it a shot, more affordable and better than Panera (which I like too.)
-
Fuck, all this makes me HONGRY FOR SAMMICHES. I used to eat at the Atlanta Bread Company (basically Panera/St. Louis bread company) in Hartsfield Airport like every day for the couple of years that I worked there.
-
haha, what. St. Louis Bread Company is just rebranded Panera for the St. Louis area. you SUCKERS
-
Going to firehouse after the episode of CSI I'm watching.
Their datil pepper hot sauce is da best
-
Panera Bread is kinda one of those places where it's absence makes you grow fonder. Like it, but if it was one of my everyday go-to destinations I'd quickly realize it's really on the level of Subway.

Truth- at the end of the day a sandwich is just a sandwich

More like the other way around. It started here, so they just never changed the name. They used Panera when they expanded/got bought out (aka sold out).
I'm eating a sammich right now that I made at home and covered in potato chips. :drool
