It's out tomorrow.
I'm really interested in playing this and I think I'll be picking up a USB headset in the next couple of days. I just hope this game has the longevity and community that has benefited Warhawk for so long.

???
-
omg yes
-
I liked the idea but I saw a lot of videos of it and I didn't like what I saw in the beta.
edit: If people who aren't crazy fan boys get it and say they actually like it then I may pick it up.

Silverhawks. :)

Pretty much this. Was not that thrilled with the beta, but if people say it's good I might bite. But I've got plenty of game's to play at the moment and Dragon's Dogma is this month.
-
Sure. Your impressions would be welcome.
-
The beta killed every intension I had of getting this. Horrible base camping to get more energy, horrible 5 second Starhawk battles. Fuck it.
-
Depends on if there's a community thriving when it hits $20. Warhawk had a nice community so it was fun to pick up and play even months later.
-
Momo, this game is about MP.
-
Yes I realize it is about MP, thats why it's so frustrating that people stay in their bases until they can build StarHawks, no one goes out to win energy cause the game doesn't reward you for doing so. You gain far too much far too fast by just hanging around in your own spawn.
-
Well maybe its better for some gamemodes then others.
-
Is the BETA still open btw?
-
I didn't love the beta, but I had some fun with it.
Lightbox just announced that all future map packs will be free. Pretty awesome of them
fuck it, just ordered it from amazon
-
I can understand there not being a trial. The beta was available for what, 3-4 months?
-
I feel like I've had this beta since December
-
"All Map Packs are free" sounds a lot like " Preorders were so low we're only gonna release the one we were already close to finishing, and we know no one's gonna buy it, so fuck it."
-
Yeah, I'd like to try it since I enjoyed Warhawk, but I have a hard time justifying paying the full $60 for any game nowadays. Once it hits $30 I'm all over it, though.
-
They should have made this game for Vita too and released it as a cross-platform title.
-
I doubt they wanted to put that much money into a game that isn't going to sell

I've never even heard of it, honestly...
-
SCE makes too many shooters and no one gives a shit about any of them except Uncharted (and Killzone in list warz). Why not make a western RPG or something?
-
That's why I stopped caring about this game. It should've been Crimson Skies with ground battles. Warhawk, basically, but with a greater focus on dogfighting. A single player campaign where you're taking down air fortresses like in those old Warhawk demo videos. Not a fan of the new style either. I liked the high tech WW2 look to Warhawk.
-
It looks okay to me although I'll stick to Max Payne and Hybrid for my summer mp fix. It mainly looks like a faster version of Section 8: Prejudice which only cost me $15 dollars by comparison. A lot of the "rts elements" and even the dropping from orbit and landing thing are straight from that game. I'd be slightly annoyed if I was TimeGate as a lot of people don't seem to be mentioning that.
-
If nothing else, I'm sure this game will be better and last a lot longer than Max Payne 3's multiplayer.
-
I started playing last night after coming back from the bars. Man, this isn't a game to learn while drunk. I'll actually try to play it later today
-

I hadn't thought about this, but yeah, Sony does make too many shooter properties and by doing so devalues the appeal of any one big shooter franchise they may have. They focused too much on FPS/TPS game strategy this gen instead of spending their manpower to fill out other genre.
-
Quick look seemed like shit
-
Single player AI is sooooooooo bad
-
I haven't had any problems joining matches, but I've stuck to single player for the most part to get a hang of the controls/gameplay. Once I beat the main game (It's prob around 6 hours or more - not sure why people are saying the SP barely exists) I'll report more on the community
-
I'm trading it in. I like it, but I don't care for it enough to try to become proficient at the multiplayer. Tried a couple matches and couldn't figure out a good strategy with my team or really how to play MP. Never played warhawk, so I have no comparisons to that
I did enjoy the single player.
-
Maybe about 50-50. Seemed like most people are still trying to get the hang of the shooter and strategy/building combination and weren't exactly confident on how to proceed. The few games I played had little communication on what to do.
That will probably get better as people get better and can guide new players. I just don't care enough to either figure it out myself or wait for someone to guide me.
-
I honestly didn't play much MP before deciding to quit, so it could be better (or worse) for others
-
You liked the SP?
-
I thought the space levels where you were a hawk were really fun. On the ground, I liked being in control of all buildings and knowing there was an actual strategy for me to use.
The gunplay and vehicles (besides the hawk) were alright at best. The AI, story, characters are terrible. Overall probably a 6-6.5/10 for the SP.
-
I'm seeing people on my PSN friends list already back on Warhawk.
-
I'm not feeling the strategy, if it's more like Warhawk I might bite in a few weeks (provided it has a good active fanbase).

Were most of these people playing Warhawk before it? Because I wouldn't be surprised. There's a general opinion by people that played Warhawk and tried the beta that the concept while interesting isn't good in execution.
And honestly, from my time in the beta I was more pissed at the 32-item build limit per team than anything. It ruined the gameplay for me when I'm having to work AGAINST my team to help them branch out and defend the flag and other shit instead of all BUILD BUILD BUILD AT HOME! I'll probably pick the game up for $20 when it drops in price a year from now like I did Warhawk but like Warhawk I'll probably play it now and then and then forget it exists because by that point the "hardcores" will pretty much be god in the 'hawks and destroying EVERYTHING I do. :-\
