Title: why is it in FAQs for JRPGs....
Post by: The Sceneman on May 09, 2012, 01:13:01 AM
that the "recommended level" for every boss fight is always 10+ levels above what I am?

I notice this all the time. I was just checking a guide for Radiant Historia just to see how far away I am from the end of the game, and a boss that I just wiped the floor with at level 50 is recommended to be fought at level 63? I've been fighting pretty every battle and rarely escaping.

Because they make faqs so if you follow them you can't lose.  Those are the levels where there is no challenge and no chance of losing.  You can do fine at your current level (probably).

well I've been fine for every boss battle so far and have only had 2 game overs ever and those were just due to carelessness so I ain't too worried. I should pop Etrian Odyssey 3 back in so I can remember what it feels like to be owned by a game

the only hard boss of radiant historia that requires grinding is the optional one,i beat it at level 75 after tons and tons of tries

That's right! I beat the final boss severely underleveled and then I had to spend another ten hours grinding to get the best ending. I should have just used YouTube.
