I stole this from Duckroll because I don't know the Japanese:

- Enders Project is a sequel to Anubis.
- It is not a futuristic setting, but instead set in an ancient civilization.
- The screen shown was a rendering in the Fox Engine.
:bow KojiPro :bow2
Because it's on Fox Engine expect it on basically every platform that doesn't have a Nintendo badge on it.
-
Game is currently in the same stage of existence that MML3 was when it was announced...
-
Konami doesn't make games anymore so this will never actually be released

KojiPro =/ Konami
-
Will never come out.

Konami doesn't make games anymore so this will never actually be released
Also announced at this event was Konami's dislike of making money.
Will never come out.
i hate all of you :maf :maf :maf

Wait... what the fuck? A new Zone of the Enders game coming out, and it's not for cellphones, but HD systems? I can't believe it...
-
May 2012: New ZoE project announced
February 2013: Demo announced for the launch of PS4 and 360
June: Kojima announces he is leaving Konami
July: Demo and game are cancelled
August: 100,000 strong for bringing back Zone of the Enders 3 Facebook group
September: Kojima reaches out and offers to finish the game, snubbed by Konami
November: Worldwide ZoE fan suicide pact

looked at some pictures of the jehuty(?) doll they showcased at this event and it looked kinda janky. all crooked and worn looking, and it had a skull for a belt-buckle. I like my mechery sleek and clean thankyou.

If Kojima were to ever leave Konami the latter will likely exit the traditional video game business. Silent Hill is :lol, PES is in a near death spiral, and they can't even make new Yu-Gi-Oh! games anymore.
-
not a fan of the older civ idea
-
Did MGS 4 even turn much of a profit for Konami? Hideo is the most overrated fucker in the industry right now.

Suda51 would like to have a word with you. None of his studio's games outside of the first NMH have sold well, he gets credited for other people's work, values style above all else (though one can argue the same with Kojima), and still gets support from huge publishers.
-
I don't get the love for this series. ZOE 2 was pretty but played like a boring DMC clone.
-
Ah, Suda. Put his name on something kind of zany and guaranteed (not very many) sales!

Press hasn't slobbered on his knob nearly as much as Kojima-san though.

Silly kids, Konami doesn't make videogames anymore.

um, Konami is making Metal Gear Risi...
Castl...

Pro Evolution Soccer! Yeah! Konami still makes video games :spin

I think it's kick ass. Escaflowne ZoE :rock
It could be set in the distant future like Turn A Gundam.
-
Man, the news article about how Konami is getting sued because they couldn't even afford to pay back a 14 million loan to City Bank.... :'(
When even the Metal Gear company can't afford to make Metal Gear games anymore...they are so fucked (as if they hadn't been this whole generation already).
I think the only way ZoE3 could get made is if they co-funded it with another publisher, outsourced it to a shitty cheap western dev, or Kojima makes it in secret by stealing money from all the remaining cash at Konami that is going into MGS5 production. I'd love a ZoE3, but Konami cannot do an in-house big budget HD action game that is not MGS; they just don't have the money.
Kojima really should buy the ZoE IP from Konami and leave Konami to a more successful publisher where he can make an original IP and ZoE3.

The HD collection looks pretty awesome, but 720p no AA on the screens makes me worried about who is doing the remaster. Bluepoint hasn't said they are doing it yet, and Kojima says it's not being done in-house. Could still be Bluepoint (fingers crossed), or it could be someone sucky. But if it was Bluepoint I would have expected 4x AA since they've done that on all the remasters they've done to make them look smooth and clean.

is that based on the recent pictures? hopefully that's not final. I worry for the Vita versions then. Supposedly the MGS HD collection on Vita isn't the best, and MGS3 is back to 30fps, but it might just be speculation.

Very excited for this. I keep hoping someone will port and re-launch ZOE2.

Am I misreading something, or are you just not aware Konami is doing a ZOE, and ZOE2 HD Collection for PS3, 360, and Vita?
-
Please remove Vita from that sentence Takao :'(
-
Really sad too because ZoE2's 5 hour length is the exact battery life of the Vita and the length of many plane trips -takeoff/landing. Would make an great flight to chill back and playthrough ZoE2 in its entirety and then be at your destination!
Makes me a little nervous though about the Vita. I was really hoping it could handle PS2 games at 1:1 perfect conversion; but if they're having trouble running ZoE2 on it...Eh, it's probably just the devs since they seem to be having as much trouble running it on PS3. I REALLY REALLY HOPE the rumor that ZoE 1&2 HD is being done by the team that did Silent Hill 1 & 2 HD is wrong, but man 720p & no AA is getting me nervous.
-
ZoE2 really played to the strengths of the kinda-weirdy PS2 tho. A port would be possible - just really hard and requiring some pretty swish software engineering so probably not worth it given the budget/sales potential.
-
Is it confirmed that ZOE HD isn't coming to Vita anymore? That would suck ass.
I was just expecting Konami to release the Vita version well after the console version in a weak attempt to get people to double dip.
-
I though I remember someone in the gaf thread saying that a dude from texas was a producer or something. Bluepoint is in texas. I remain hopeful.
But konami sucks so I also remain skeptical

It's possible, but the Vita version seems to have disappeared. The PS3 box doesn't have the transferring logo like it was supposed to.

this series is one of those series that i don't get the hype for.
zoe1 was average and the only good thing about it was the mgs2 demo. zoe2, slightly above average but still mostly average.
why do people care so much? you've got one crap game, and one decent game in like a 10 year time span. who cares.
-
ZOE 2 was awesome. you're stupid, humu
-
ZOE2 was nothing but flash and style with very little substance, and was like 4 hours long.
-
zoe2 is pretty good, but it really felt like it could be better. Which is why a sequel is a very interesting prospect. Of course this is assuming Konami/Kojipro is capable of successfully iterating on zoe2...
edit: Nothing wrong with action games being short himu, all the best ones are. Step ur troll game up.
-
Meh. ZoE2 bored me.
-
good thing it wasn't longer then, huh
-
The best 3d action games (NG1/2, DMC1/3, God Hand, Bayonetta) average on 8-12 hours or more. Your point seems really weird.
ZOE2 was flashy action pap. Admit it.
-
Hell, I spent 40 hours with my first DMC3 run on normal.
-
Meh. ZoE2 bored me.
i'll choke the shit out of you! :maf
MAGUS SMASH
-
Magus likes a vapid action game that emphasizes special effects over mechanics? Not surprised.
-

Devil May Cry games usually has a fair bit of filler. I seem to remember God Hand being shorter than 8 hours, but I might be wrong. Regardless, when I said best action games I wasn't thinking specifically of 3D ones. Castlevania x68k is about an hour long for instance.
ZOE2 was flashy action pap. Admit it.
But it had potential. Which is why a sequel could be interesting.
-
Well, Castlevania is a 2d game. I have different expectations and wants when it comes to 3d action and 4 hours, unless it's HIGHLY replayable, ain't cuttin' it.
Sure, a sequel could be interesting. But the point is, you have all of this hype and hoopla over one crap game, and one semi-decent one. I don't get it.
-
I'd say zoe2 is at least decent, but you have to factor in kojima's name being tied to it, which is a great way to wet panties and whet penises from from the lowest gamefaqs basements to the highest neogaf ivory towers.
-
Very excited for this. I keep hoping someone will port and re-launch ZOE2.

I was unaware. Or forgot.
Thanks for the news, in any case!
-
zoe2 is a lot of fun,and the music is awesome, and all that flashy stuff,i don't think there is a game that better catch the feeling of "animu robots" and that includes all the games with actual animu robots in it
so really who gives a fuck if it doesn't feature a combo system or stuff like that? go cry for a sequel of bayonetta that's never going to get released :smug
-
i guess i can see the appeal of zoe1/2 if you're a mecha fanboy. so i give distant/bebpo some credit here.
-
lol there is no new zone of the enders game coming
mega man legends 3 part 2, except this won't even get to a playable prototype
The announcement is definitely an incentive to get people to buy the HD Collection. If the HD Collection sells well then there's no reason for Konami to not greenlight the sequel, if it doesn't, then oh well.
-
ZOE2 > Dynasty Warriors
*exits*

The ZOE GBA game was really good, although the battle system was ridiculously easy to exploit.

I never played the second. Forum types really seem to have a hard on for it though. I know I didn't much care for the first outside of it having a nice anime style to it I seem to remember. And the word Jehuty being used like a million times.

The second one is amazing. The first is good in the sense that it came out shortly after launch but wouldn't make the cut if it came out in 2006.

this. zoe2 let you feel like you were inside some god-like animu robot that could smash the shit out of everything. it had great controls, good graphics/sound, some really awesome scenarios (tho this was the area that needed the most improvement), and a fun mission mode a la mgs. it was definitely wasn't perfect but it was still a really fun game. i'd love to see konami take another shot at it, but i doubt they have the same level of talent around anymore.
-
oh yeah and also zoe1 is one of the worst games ever made, fuck konami for releasing it, kill everyone responsible for its creation, etc
-
the first zone of enders still has unmatched game mechanics, even if the game itself was just above mediocre even at the time of its release. plus the entire end section and the anubis boss fight was some next level shit at the time.
-
I'll wait for the definitive WiiU version.
It's a shame Konami is struggling. If only Kojima had released a game on the Wii, as Miyamoto suggested...
-
ZOE was already on GBA and there is another one announced for the 3DS, it's a given that this project is meant for wiiu.
-
There isn't one for 3DS. Kojima was trolling... again.
-
radio drama in collaboration with koji igarashi :teehee

lolz no. it was a simple fighting system with good flying controls and terrible special powers. zoe2 did it way better and it still had tons of room for improvement.
-
haha remember the fights?!
HEY! LET'S GIVE YOU A MECH AND LET YOU FIGHT INSIDE A SPACE COLONY. WAIT YOU'RE HAVING FUN AND DESTROYING BUILDINGS? YOU JUST KILLED THAT PUPPY ORPHANAGE YOU CUNT.
shit game

yeah, the final boss fight is great. It's like that MMX fight with Vile, only you're forced to run away instead of waiting.
I liked ZoE1. Back when it came out it didn't have a good rep outside of the absurdly good visuals and MGS2 demo. I bought it because it's a mech game; I bought my PS2 for Armored Core 2. But yeah, it's a simple game. ZoE2 took what was there and made a fully realized, exceptional action game with it.

the part at 2:18 made me lose my shit when I first saw the trailer. The game has such cool weapons. Zero shift is so satisfying to use and you have stuff like:

VECTOR CANNON :rock
-
I don't see how someone who loves mecha anime could not love ZOE2. Then again, Himu watches them for the space drama and shit, not for the giant robot battles. Pussy.
-
honestly zero shift should be included as a move in every 3d action game
-

I don't see how that makes me a pussy. Space drama is few and far between these days. I'm a sci-fi nerd, not a mecha nerd. Also, though I like mecha, I am a gamer first and foremost, and I'll judge the game on its own gameplay mechanics and merits even if it has a subject matter I like.
-
I'm not getting involved in this argument because Himuro is wrong and I don't want to fight him about it.
-
I'll rent this collection... I hate these collections with 2 games.
3 should be a requirement to be a "collection" - Jak and Daxter, Sly, Ratchet, Metal Gear, DMC...
-

i don't think zone of the enders, zone of the enders 2 and the metal gear solid 2 demo would have made for a good collection
-
demi, you should buy it. zoe2 is rare as fuck these days and zoe2 bombed, there's no interest in this series except diehards. the collection will be rare, get it.
-
ZOE2 is not "rare as fuck"
http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Zone-of-the-Enders-The-2nd-Runner-Sony-PlayStation-2-2003-/10518?_refkw=zone+of+the+enders+2+ps2&_pcatid=2&rt=nc&_pcategid=1249&_pdpal=1&_dmpt=Video_Games_Games
Maybe it got a reprint... but no, it's not pricey by any means.
-
Oh, it's a lot better than it was a few years ago.
-
There was a ZOE2 reprint not too long ago, yeah. I'd get this collection for $20 maybe. I remember playing ZOE, getting thte end credits to roll, and then thinking 'the hell is this?'. Game just started to get interesting story wise and felt like it was halway finished maybe and then, BAM, done. Feels like they just threw it out there incomplete. The second is apparently 1.5X times as long as the first, and the first felt like half a game, so I didn't bother springing for two since it was apparently 3/4 of a full game. Then 2 got some cult following inexplicably so maybe it's decent, but I'm not going to throw much fundage around to find out.
-
lol konami can't even develop frogger internally anymore
-
There was a time when ZOE2 was commanding about $100 factory sealed on eBay. I remembered buying ZOE2 when it was selling for $27.88 at Target. I was kicking myself for not buying some more copies.
-
The first game sucked Donkey balls compared to the second.
ZERO SHIFT ftw
-
Yeah, I kind of feel bad for people who played the first game, and thought it was pretty meh (rightfully so), and passed on the 2nd game. Going by sales #s there were A LOT of people who did that, and it's a shame because they missed out on one of the best PS2 games.
-
People bought the first game for the MGS2 demo. ZoE2 didn't have an accompanying demo.
I bought ZoE for ZoE and Tobal for Tobal; MGS2 and FF7 demos were nice bonuses. ZoE and Tobal are similar for that and having tremendously improved sequels. Sadly Tobal 2 never released in the states :'(
(I spent more time with the MGS2 demo than ZoE1. Magus might be joking but I'd be excited for MGS2 demo HD.)
-

Stop giving serious responses goddammit

Fine! :)
