Friend of my mom (FOM): Well 2007 might be worse than 2006 with the dem-O-dumbs in office
Mom: ...
Phoenix: Hopefully they'll bring some accountability to the administration
FOM: For what?
Phoenix: *laughs*
FOM: Do you support gay marriage?
Mom: *stares at me*
Phoenix: Yes I do
FOM: You realize that's against the Bible right?
Phoenix: Is the Bible the law of the land in this country, or is the Constitution?
FOM: The Constitution is based on the Bible
Phoenix: Not according to the first ammendment...
Mom: *stares at me*
FOM: Well since homosexuality is fine with you, do me a favor and find me 10 older gay men.
Phoenix: What are you trying to say?
FOM: Well since according to you it's natural, there should be plenty of older gay men around.
Phoenix: ...
FOM: Well there aren't. It's not natural, and because of that they don't live long
So my quest, Evilbore, is to find 10 elderly homosexual men who are alive. I've heard their life expectancy is indeed lower than hetero males, but it's pretty distinguished mentally-challenged to say that there are no older gay guys.
Off the top of my head...
Elton John
Patrick Stewart
Sir Ian McKellen
3 down, 7 to go! Is EvilBore up to the challenge?

Rupaul
Tenesse Williams
Is patrick stuart gay?? I dont think so.

I hate to use a lame idiom, but the reason you will find difficulty finding 10 elderly gay men is that, well, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Elderly gay people were used to living their lives a different way, and they may not even consider themselves homosexuals, at least in common parlance.
Consider that homosexuality (as a "lifestyle" - in quotes because that's treating complicated 19th century ideas with kid's gloves) was a concept not defined until the late 19th century, and the concept of a homosexual lifestyle probably didn't become a common idea in the social landscape until (and I am being a little generous here) until the 1950s. It stands to say that I don't think that most people we today would label as homosexuals would not be happy with that identification unless they were born or had their formative identity struggle in the 1950s.
And don't forget, and maybe you should tell your mom's friend this: Just because something is natural or unnatural doesn't mean it is right or not right. Examples can be cited for and against in any argument constructed from that statement. How natural something in is in no way a barometer for judging where it stands on the cultural moral scale.

But wouldn't liking men=being homosexual, no matter what the time period?

People didn't tend to link the action with personal identity previously. You may be able to find elderly people that had gay sex, but you probably won't be able to find ones that identify as homosexual. Actually, good luck on getting them to admit they had gay sex at all because they'd be afraid of the implications of being identified as a gay.
Note that I am talking about western civilization. I am sure those shitty cultures that aren't western have completely different attitudes, and I am sure there are even temporal anomalies in the west.

What about gay people born in the late 60's, 70's? Would they represent a change from those of the 50's - a more conscience, and proud thought process?
-
All males have some degree of homosexual tendancies, whether they like it or not. Now, if they act on them is a completely different story.

I'd guess so, but I'm just guessing here. I was guessing with my pick of the 50s as the go point. I figured the 50s since, as we know, homosexuality was in full effect by the time the shitty hippies ruled our public consciousness.

The Constitution is based on the Bible? Where's our right to sell our daughters into slavery? Or stone disobedient children?

Are we allowed to nail Jews to crosses?

I'd also like to kill witches, people who work on the Sabbath day, and adulterers. Oh and rape victims have to marry their rapists.

Why not, the right to bear hammers should be in there too.

I wouldnt say the constitution is baed on the bible, but they both share some common laws. Back in the ancient area the bible was probably a decent code of laws. Of course now times have changed. The bible is more like a distant cousin to the constitution.

Congressman (Likely Senator if John Kerry does not run for senate re-election in 2008) Barney Frank is a very open homosexual:

Every year we rent a house in Cape Cod. We pick one day and travel to Provincetown .. which is like San Fran - East Coast. You see gay men (and women) of all shapes, sizes, colors and ages. It's kind of a wierd thing when the tables are reversed and you are the minority because of your sexuality.

You live in MA? Being EB/GAF's republican face how do you see a potential Senator Barney Frank? If Kerry doesn't run he is going to run everyone says, and being MA the job is his if he makes it through the primary.
