Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride pocket. (Pocket is the iphone version, Ticket to Ride is the ipad version. The main difference being pocket uses asynch play and the ipad version uses real time play instead. Either version is great.
Infinity Blade 2. Probably the biggest showcase game for the ipad. Looks really good. I also think its fun for what it is. A simplistic medieval punchout.
Magic 2013. Gread ipad implementation of the latest magic game.
Plants vs Zombies HD Great ipad version of this title
Pinball Arcade. Really solid implementation of this title.
Anomaly Warzone HD
Waking Mars


I think all of those are solid on the ipad and have universal appeal. There are tons of others I could name but I limited myself to a select few and concentrated on the ipad ones as I now tend to prefer those. MAF also has pretty good taste when it comes to ios games and could recommend a bunch of them.

No shoddy ports in here, all are tailored for mobiles, and are simple and quick to pick up.

If I had to order them for favorite to least favorite:
1- Bejeweled HD
2- Kingdom Rush HD
3- Battleheart (kinda old, still fun)
4- Groove Coaster
5- Infinity Blade (will get 2 as soon as I'm done with 1)
6- Knights if the Round Cable (new, fun)
7- Gauge (new, *really* simple, addictive)
8- Tiny Wings HD
9- Squids Wild West
10- Tetris HD
11- Amazing Alex (reskinned Casey's Contraptions, kinda fun, feels aimed at younger people so far)
12- Draw Something (I'm over it, it's still there because my family aren't yet)

I'm casual as fuck nowadays myself. Kingdom Rush is a very good game for example but that shit is too tough for me.

Depending on each device's iCloud settings, you can get it to download automatically on all of them, i.e. when you purchase on one device, it will show up on the rest. So if you purchase on PC, it propagates to your iPad and iPhone and iPod the next time you have it plugged in to a power source and connected to a network.

THe whole itunes setup is stupid. When you hook your device up, it should ask you if you want to sync the computer with the device OR device to computer.

Yup, I've been playing it all week.

Other fun free games I recently discovered was [Adult Swim]'s Monsters Ate My Condo (impressive presentation for a free game, no IAP) and two crazy Engrish games: ElectroMaster and HungryMaster.

How would you rate your Role Playing collection, demi?

And are SE's ports up to snuff? I'm eyeing Secret of Mana but I'm not sure about its quality, especially the controls.

They're all great. I plan on buying Chrono Trigger, FFT, and the soon to be released FF Dimensions.

My Role Playing Folder is pretty shitty. Silversword might be worth playing on iPad but the small screen on iPod makes it hard to control and read.

Mecho Wars is more Advance Wars so not really Role Playing.

There's honestly not many "good" RPGs on iOS. Guardian Saga and Dragon Fantasy are top. Ash is ok, too.

Holy shit Apple rocks.

iCloud's free with your Apple account; if you enable it, it will download apps automatically, and give you the option to auto-download media purchases. It might only be music, but it may work with TV/movies, but I don't buy a lot of those. My apps are always just there on each device I own.

The first Infinity Blade is 99 cents right now. Just bought it for our iPad.

The only other games we have are Angry Birds HD, Puerto Rico and Catan. As soon as kiddo goes down for the night, my wife pulls out the iPad and plays Puerto Rico until she goes to bed.

With AppShopper, you can add all the games on my list to your wishlist and when an update or price drop happens, AppShopper will notify you and you can see what happened.

Just make sure to remove all the other searches so it's just "games" so it doesnt pick up other crap.

Yup, AppShopper is exactly what you need. I've been heavily relying on it. What's great about it is that it logs the drops and increases too, so something like EA's shady pricing tactics becomes very apparent (the moral is: never, ever, buy a full prices EA game).

I bought Spellsword because it looked cool.

First impressions was "eh, this is not what I thought it'd be."

Second impression was "the controls sucks."

Then it was "not bad," and finally "this is actually good."

Don't, with all the cloud stuff it's easy to just download anything you want whenever you need it. Plus, the 16GB iPads are much easier to sell when you want to upgrade.
