Title: Best modern classical composers?
Post by: Himu on July 18, 2012, 11:47:47 PM: Philip Glass, Christopher Tin, Yo Yo Ma, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Kaija Saariaho...I can think of only a few modern classical composers and I'm more attuned with pre-1950's classical music. Any suggestions on where to start? I'd love to hear some classical and electronic blends in the vein of Kashiwa Daisuke.

The string quartets or Concerto for Orchestra are the usual starting points.
