There can be only one.
-
I voted T-Paw, I'm hoping Paul Ryan. If there's a God and he's not a Republican, it will be Sarah Palin again.
-
I think Herman Cain has a better shot at this point.
-
I still feel like it's Giuliani.

I still feel like it's Giuliani.
He wasn't even vetted.

I bet it's M.Bison. Gotta good feeling.

The day M. Bison entered the Oval Office was the worst day of your life. But for me, it was a Tuesday.

Some grannies are getting starved tonight!

I guess..
If it is fucking Paul Ryan though, I will be fucking ecstatic. I think I'm gonna stay up for the next 9 hours waiting for the results. Seriously, the proposed Medicare cuts will practically guarantee that Florida is out of Romney's hands. What is Romney going to campaign on for the next 3 months?
-
how out of touch do you need to be to pick paul ryan? I guess I know now

The same level of out of touch you need to be to announce your VP on the weekend of the Olympics' closing ceremony and PGA championship.
-
Obama's response to the Ryan news is gonna be a video that just consists of him laughing uncontrollably for twenty minutes straight.
-
Apparently it really is gonna be Ryan... his wikipedia page has had a billion edits in the past couple of hours, which is a dead giveaway.
I'm kind of stunned by this. I can't really believe Romney wanted him, this had to be forced on him. Maybe party insiders know Romney is toast no matter what but want to excite the base to get out and have a chance to vote for the dead eyed Granny killing Randroid to help the downticket races? Not sure. Baffling, really.
-
No I think Romney actually wants this. I think he's honestly scared that registered Republicans will stay home even though he's running against their biggest fear (Obama). With Ryan on the ticket, he can at least get the base to go to the booths in November and say that it's not his fault he lost by a landslide, it's due to all the independents/democrats.
-
Except that Romney isn't stupid; his entire political career, he has run as whatever he thought people wanted in order to win, then threw a shit ton of money at it to guarantee victory. He has to know that while Obama is unpopular and the economy sucks, the country is becoming more socially liberal (gay marriage and weed legalization are both now polling with a majority in favor of if I remember correctly) and that hitching his horse to a platform that is going to make Rick Santorum happy isn't a winning proposition, even in this shitty year. Really, he was undone by all of the knives in the primary fight, and what I think will end up having killed him is Obama successfully painting him as Thurston Howell III.
edit: fuck, I just realized I was arguing with someone so out of it they thought Giuliani had a chance of being VP. Please forget that I ever responded.

You have to admit Guiliani would be a better choice.
But if Romney is not stupid, then he knows how unrealistic his chances are without events outside of his control playing against Obama. At this point, I think he's trying to lose gracefully with one massive unfloppable flip.
-
Watching Mitt Romney run for president is like watching a man who has everything waste his life.
-
Let's not forget just a couple months ago, Portman and Pawlenty were the front runners. Pawlenty became the clear favorite over the last two weeks. Then the WSJ and other conservative outlets started demanding for Ryan, while some GOP insiders ran scared due to his budget.
Romney caved to the far right, plain and simple. He'll secure the base, they'll love him for this pick...but now he has to run on Ryan's budget. This is no longer a race of Romney basically saying "lol Obama sucks, vote for me." He's been given a position to stand on and I'm not sure it's the best.

Pro choice, doesn't hate gay people. Would never work in a million years

If it is indeed Paul Ryan then it's going to be the most attractive candidacy in a very, very long time. I'm ready to write some hot RomRy* fan fiction.
*(Still working on it)
-
I can't believe he's unveiling this early. What the fuck is going on with this campaign. I mean really. What in the fuck.
-
Wait. He's going with Paul Ryan.
Wait.
My brain is dead.

another mistake: Romney just teed up ad featuring his arm around Ryan saying "every now and then I make a mistake"

Team Obama is masturbating furiously.

Absolutely brutal. Gonna be hilarious to see Mittens' (and Ryan's too, probably) excuse(s) for backtracking.

Should've went with M.Bison.

LOL. And piss off the Tea Party even further? It's bad enough that they're tolerating one moderate already.

Would M. Bison make have to wear those fancy military clothes that he, Cammy and her sisters wear?
-
Inauguration day is a Sunday actually

Ryan's already thrown Ayn Rand under the bus; he's no stranger to backtracking.
-
I don't really get too much into politics, but isn't backtracking and scapegoating former associates pretty standard? Like Obama and his crazy old church preacher?
Feel free to correct me

Hasn't he always objected to Ayn's atheistic beliefs? Regardless, he calls her his reason for going into politics.

Well, technically he through her Godlessness under the bus. He still has no problem with her economic ideology.
