Nevermind is great but far from the best 90s grunge

Can I have your black if you're no longer using it?

I'll give you 50%, thus creating two Kwame Browns

Ten is fucking awful.  Every song is a Teenage Issue PSA.

Yup, Superunknown is the best out of those... but, a new challenger approaches:

In a parallel universe:

Different Class > What's the Story (Morning Glory) > Parklife > Modern Life is Rubbish > Definitely Maybe

shudder.

Loveless > Only Forever > Chrome > Nowhere > Giant Steps

;)

and of those - given the topic - EVERYONE should listen to Catherine Wheel's "Chrome" at least once.

Badmotorfinger > Dirt > Jar of Flies (greatest EP of all time) > Superunknown > Core > Ten > In Utero > Nevermind > Purple > Facelift > Siamese Dream > Vitalogy

Vitalogy is the best album on this list

I'm ashamed to say that Loveless is the only album on that list with which I am familiar. And I do adore My Bloody Valentine. But despite your misgivings about Oasis and Blur, surely you can agree with me on Pulp?

I don't particularly mind Oasis and Blur - they're all right for what they are. But yes, Pulp are awesome.

Actually - speaking of amazing outros and Pulp : 3:54 onwards :O :O :O :O :O

Dirt is a very good album but doesn't really compare to Superunknown or Ten, which are basically perfect albums for that time; pretty much the only bad song on Superunknown is Half, which is like the definition of a filler track. I'd compare Dirt to the heavier albums of that time like Badmotorfinger or Facelift, and I'd put both ahead of it tbh

Good god Badmotorfinger is so fucking amazing. I remember not liking it the first few times I heard it; it was too dense and the heavier stuff didn't impress me. But I almost like it more than Superunknown now
