Microsoft has no Gamescom presser.

I suspect SCE's will be full of Wonderbook, Move and no Vita.

Probably. The studio behind Capcom's game apparently was working with SCE at some point. I guess they canned it and Capcom swooshed in to pick it up. That's like the third time Capcom's picked up stuff Sony didn't want anymore (Ninja Theory and Slant 6).

Yeah that.

I wonder if Capcom picked the game up at E3 itself. Board room dealings and what not during the conference.

It's definitely that QTE thing from E3:

I wonder if Sony and Capcom did a trade. Sony did a trade of L.A. Noire for Agent (Whoops) so ... ?

There will be a stream, but having seen previous Sony Gamescom press conferences ... you should probably go to bed, lol.

this small, indie game:

Gamescom people have said that Half-Life 3 was an error, which of course confirms that it's real.

Apparently Scissor guy is for a new SCEJ game that apparently was on PS3. If that's the case and it isn't their Move game there will be 0 Vita game announcements at Sony's press conference. Wow this could somehow turn out worse than E3 ...

Remember Me looks awesome.

Deus Ex + Beyond Good & Evil + Syndicate.

Capcom is on a roll lately with Dragon's Dogma, MvC3 and this title.

The memory manipulation stuff in the gameplay video reminds me of Ghost Trick and the way you can only interact with certain items in an environment.

It's Sony Cambridge. They were merged with GG earlier this year. The game looks great visually, and will most assuredly be the best FPS on Vita, lol.

OK, cambridge isn't bad.  Gives it a chance of being decent, maybe.  (actually, I liked Killzone 2.  I didn't bother with the third game and am disinterested in more bog standard killzone is all.)

Graphics look really good for the Vita but that's some gross vignetting in those gifs.

It's a shame wonderbook seems to be kids centric, sony better start adapting a song of ice and fire for it! I want to kill some lannisters and cook some lemoncakes and do some raping.

I'm holding out hope we'll see it at TGS... but it's good to hope. That French Capcom game looks like it has potential, at least something cool came out of Gamescom so far.

Cool, EA is doing Origin on the Mac.

PC gaming has five years left in it thanks to Microsoft COMPLETELY FUCKING UP Windows 8.

How fucking stupid can MS be for locking down the OS so hardcore to piss off Valve enough to get every single game on Steam to run on Linux? Gabe is a MS veteran! Locking down the OS so much that Steam, Impulse, and Origin WILL NOT RUN on the final code (thus none of their games will) is the most monumentally stupid thing Microsoft has ever done. It's even worse than BOB.

Microsoft will change their policy when neither the consumers or the developers migrate to Windows 8.

I was under the impression that most games that require DirectX isn't compatible with Linux or WINE. Has Steam found a solution to this problem? Until they do we're mostly going to get indie games and the occasional Valve title.

All current game clients run just fine on intel/amd Windows 8. Stop spreading fud.

My post was under the assumption that the rumors about Microsoft pushing software exclusively through the new app store was true. Of course, that's not going to happen since they don't have the necessary support.

Its true with the RTM code. All apps have to go through Windows Store to run. I work with non-gaming related apps that won't launch due to the lockdown.

Don't you think it's possible that Microsoft will remove the lock because of the negative blowback? It can probably be fixed with a simple patch or by reverting to an older build.

WELL

DUH

So is how "apps" operate.

You don't like it? Then stick with your desktop software.

this could not be MORE WRONG. i am running steam and games on RTM *right now* under Desktop. as long as the game is a Windows 7 app, it will run FINE.

He is, for some weird ass reason, confusing legacy desktop apps with Metro/Modern apps.

Gabe's rant against Win8 is simply him being fuck afraid of MS taking all his fat money with an Apple like OS store.

I think you guys are missing the point. Microsoft are taking a giant leap towards the iOS closed store model. Do you really want Microsoft of all companies to even have that as an option?
