Good luck.
-
I'm buying it because $30 aint shit for my $499 iPhone
-
A janky port of a years-old 16-bit featurephone cash-in is not a "real game."
-
Maybe when you guys get real jobs you'll understand.
-
People like Demi was why I was makin scrilla back when I was workin at SQEX
-
With that price I think it's legal to pirate it then not play it in protest.
-
What. the. fuck. I'd pay $30 for a UMD release on the PSP, but not a digital download thingermajig.
-
They've got to recoup the costs on the Chinese-dev'd MMO fiasco somehow!
-
People like Demi was why I was makin scrilla back when I was workin at SQEX
Yea, you guys made good games. Hopefully the other guys will catch up.
-
If demi didn't do a reasonably good job as admin and didn't have such an amusing fetish, I would be publicly lobbying for him to be shot.
-
Looks like an ugly flash game.
-
I sure hope they don't overcharge for TWEY. I'd actually buy that at maybe $10. I won't spend over $10 on anything digital though.
-
Cuz you're a cheap schlub. My purchase of Final Fantasy Dimensions will tell Square Enix I want more, giving them the incentive to bring TWEWY overseas. And you can lick my tip as thanks for doing it.
-
It's because they don't have boxes.
-
Who the hell is going to pay $30 for an iOS game? At best a few people will pay the $2.99 for the 1st episode, get bored with it, and never touch it again.
smh @ Square not understanding iOS
-
I have no problem with paying $30, but it has to be an amazing game that controls incredibly with touch or will magically grow buttons on my iPad.
-
Let's be honest, there's not a lot to do in Poland. :'(
-
I think Borys clocked in over 100 hours for XII and XIII
Sounds like something I'd do when I was a poor kid who had maybe 1-2 games a year so you made the most of it.
-
neither of those are 100 hour games unless you have asperger's
:lol
-
Let's be honest, there's not a lot to do in Poland. :'(
I can think of a lot of things to do in Poland... but I guess if you're married you can't partake in those things :P

Borys just admit you're a disgusting poor that REELS at the thought of paying money
I'll be buying this when they fix the IAP
-
I just played the FREE prologue to form my own opinion, and I think its awesome. Great music, graphics are fine (unlike what screens tell you), and its good ATB.
-
You can change the battle music so its more "chiptune" - arranged they call it.
The battle music sounds like a rendition of Force Your Way (FF8's battle music)
-
Has there been any word of this getting a release on a system with real buttons?
-
Just got back with a iTunes card and bought my $30 iPhone game. : D
-
Has there been any word of this getting a release on a system with real buttons?
hope for playstation mobile
conversely xperia play optimized :-*

im not sure why you always pretend like youre flip-flopping

At the end of Chapter 1...
Job system seems kinda lame right now. You can easily max out all jobs without even trying.
The thing is, it's meant to be this way. You can only go up to Level 3, but later on you get JP, which let you upgrade a job even more, but you are limited in your amount. So if you want to make them a stronger Mage, you put JP into the mage classes you want.
Leveling up a job also increases the stat boosts that job gives you. Each job increases and decreases stats. It also restricts equipment. Usual stuff.
The encounter rate is kinda high. I have beaten every fight with just the Auto button (which thankfully is saved, so you dont have to keep tapping it).
There are Fusion Abilities, like FF4 TAY, but I dont know any combinations or even how to unlock more.
Difficulty hasnt been bad, but enemies do some ok damage relative to my level.
Navigating is kinda annoying, trying to align yourself with a door or a pot to check.
-
It's locked to certain intervals. Apparently you can find rare items that give you more JP. Game has been easy enough that jobs havent been an issue. I've just been going through the motions giving people various job ups. Red Mage Level 3 gives you +20% HP so that's not bad.
-
Sounds and looks like one of those lame flash rpg.
-
Fuck everyone who bought this.
-
the snes games were made by teams with talent and experience. this is made by fucking matrix software.
also the snes games had production values comparable to other games at the time and cost $80. this uses ancient technology and costs $30.
-
my mind is made up - square's old IPs are overpriced and underwhelming, so i wont play them. their eidos division on the other hand... :drool
-
Eidos :bow
-
Yeah, game is pretty good. Glad you decided to use your iPad beyond Angry Tards.
Now buy Drakerider
-
demi did you buy that sqeenix game made by the ouendan team? the one with the fucked up IAP added to the international versions?
also does drakerider get better after the first chapter? i liked what i played but i was starting to get pretty repetitive
-
I didnt buy Demon Score, or the new Symphonica
I didnt buy Drakerider yet either, need to finish my other $30 game first
They unlock more abilities and such in the later chapters though.
-
He also directed The Bouncer and Chocobo Racing
But as a developer I welcome anything that will push app store pricing expectations up
-
Positive Touch demolished.
I don't like the filter they applied to the sprites. Makes them look cheap.
-
ban oscar
-
and takao
-
who wants to play that kind of game anymore in 2012
-
I'd get this if it came out on a real platform...
-
Yep, me too. Release it for a platform with buttons and I'm there.
-
who wants to play that kind of game anymore in 2012
lol, this dude comes in and Oscar smacks him out of the park. Lame...
-
who wants to play that kind of game anymore in 2012
You play pinball and old Sega arcade games, sir.
Not saying that's wrong, but in the category of who wants to play that kind of game in 2012 anymore...
The difference is that pinball and Sega are awesome, and JRPGs are for cellar dwellers
-
and of course the main difference is that we arent paying 3x the normal asking price for pinball and sega ports.
-
$5 is well beyond 3x the asking price for Crazy Taxi
-
lawlz
-
Disclaimer: I just finished Persona 3 and I think I'm JRPG'ed out until I hit about 76 years old
-
Disclaimer: i dont think ive played a sqeenix game aside from ff13 since crisis core
-
Disclaimer: I just finished Persona 3 and I think I'm JRPG'ed out until I hit about 76 years old
I finished Persona 3 AND Persona 4 and if there's an afterlife I don't want to bring my JRPGs with me anymore
-
then shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up, aaaaand shut the fuck up
Will continue to enjoy my game
-
It's okay, Hannah Montana still has her fans too
-
Unlike Sega Ports, Hannah Montanna ages like a fine wine
-
Mmm just like the Olsen Twins
-
http://poponthepop.com/2012/09/miley-cyrus-2012-vmas-hair-looks-like-pinks/
See, Hannah is hip and retro just like Sega
-
Oh god girl, your hair is a certifiable disaster area
-
It might not be necessary, but it sure as hell is nicer to play with real buttons. I might get it anyway once I've tried some of the cheaper iOS titles. Hopefully it will have dropped in price by then.
-
It wont.
-
I thought the iOS app store had frequent sales. Are Square-Enix not a part of that?
-
hell no they are not
-
Well, that's stupid. Pretty much all of their games have been 50% off on the PSN and they also take part in the Steam sales.
-
SE stuff sometimes goes on sale but the drops aren't that huge, I think Chaos Rings 2 went down to 12 from 18 so don't expect dollar pricing or anything. Dimensions is all-IAP pricing too so that might make it less likely to drop.
I have mixed feelings on Dimensions. Even for SE, you can get very high-quality titles like TWEWY and Chaos Rings for much less than Dimensions. The game is also poorly optimized for the iPhone, just using healing spells in the menu takes way too many steps than it should, or having to scroll down to select all of your party members in battle. Still, the gameplay itself is pretty solid and it more or less gives the fans exactly what they want.

I'll take em!

Miley continues to be young and confident, which makes her smoking hot to me. She plays by her own rules and doesn't subscribe to Hollywood's stereotypical standards of beauty when it comes to her hair, not her body. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Would easily grab TWEWY if it ran on Touch 4 : (

At least release this shit on Android...
Anyways, does this game actually have somewhat of a storyline, or good gameplay? Seems like a lot of 2D FF games are nothing but cheap cashins with tons of recycling (The After Years, which was a total disappointment).
-
Its storyline is no different than any Final Fantasy. And its the same gameplay you played in any Final Fantasy.
After Years is fine, too. The moon system was weird, though.
-
I thought the encounter rate in After Years was muchhhh too high and there was a ridiculous amount of backtracking. I think it was Palom's chapter that had me go through the waterfall caverns no less than 3 times for instance.
