The cars are fully licensed. I heavily doubt it.

Yes, this is mine.
-
I played the shit out of this game on the 360. Can't wait :rock
-
So this is sort of Burnout Paradise x NFS Hot Pursuit? Looks great.

BURNOUT PARADISE 2 :hyper :hyper :hyper
-
looks like there is some limited car destruction
-
why couldn't criterion have made the new ssx :(
-
On PC at 60fps this is going to be amazing
-
This game is REALLY fun, and you can tell Criterion had a blast making it...however...
This does feel more like NFSHP then BP. I really enjoyed NFSHP racing model though so. Also the performance on PC is utter dogshit, but my god does it look good. Rivals Sleeping Dogs for best looking PC game I believe.
But playing too much Forza Horizon lately makes me miss a map overlay on the road as it kind of sucks having to look down at the mini map all the time . But the good news is Galvanize is on the radio stations so it's already 100x better radio than Horizon. Now to figure out how to configure custom songs on PC.
-
anyone knows if this support racing wheels?

>:(
this game has TONS of performance issues. makes no sense.
-
Yeah, I bought it day 1 since I love Criterion to death but haven't had any time to play it yet. Sad to hear it runs awful on PC. Was really looking forward to 60fps arcade racing.
If you drop all the visual settings down, can you get 60fps consistently? 60fps >>>> graphical effects for me in a game like this.
-
no, because the "settings" are broken. Feel free to move everything ot low and you'll get better performance; you also won't lose any IQ because theres no difference between Low and High (except shadows, keep shadows up).
It seems the settings actually detect whats being rendered that you don't see, and its whats killing performance
-
Holy crap, just tried this.
I've never seen a game as poorly optimized as this in the last decade. In the city I'm getting like 15fps with my 580GTX. Game is basically unplayable in its current state. Would have been better off getting it on PS3.
-
put everything on low and update your drivers (I know i know, but I did and got 30+ fps increase) bebpo
-
Not surprised. Hot Pursuit was poorly optimized as well.

Are there new Nvidia drivers since last weekend? I just updated them for Sleeping Dogs on like Sunday.
Everything on Low makes it playable. But it's basically always moving between 30fps & 60fps and it looks like a jaggy ugly mess of a game.
Total shit PC port.
-
yeah its a mess, dunno about nvuidia drivers. mine does the 30 fps and 60 fps shit also :(
-
this game is fun. it's a combination of burnout paradise and hot pursuit but it's not as good as either.
the cops are terrible and should not be in the game. they add nothing and only result in frustration.
-
multiplayer is really great
i like how everything is competitive. getting to the meetup is a race. a lot of challenges will be team based but the person to do the best gets more points. individual challenges will allow you to get your high score then proceed to fuck with the rest of the people to try to take them down, and when someone gets taken down they're out of the challenge.
a lot of smart design decision
but then the single player is like... what? switching cars will warp you to where the car was originally found. fucking cops that attack when you get caught SPEEDING. A RACING GAME punishes you for GOING FAST when you're near a cop. WHAT THE FUCK! And when you get caught you can't join missions. Some events will have cops in them and you'll be getting chased and when the challenge ends, you still got heat and have to lose the cops. It's nearly ALWAYS faster to just get busted than try to outrun them. it's dumb. each care has it's own specific set of races and you have to do them individually to unlock nitrous, better tires, etc.
a lot of dumb design decisions.
it's like the single player and multiplayer are made by different teams.
-
how's the vita version, lol
-
Supposedly amazing. Basically near-console experience on the go.
PSP Burnouts were pretty good so I'm not surprised. Criterion are great programmers but either they suck at PC or most likely the PC version was outsourced to someone cheap and awful.
-
Game is pretty fun. A lesser BP with the handling of NFS (aka, less fun handling, smaller jumps). But wtf is up with the cop escape missions? I don't understand how to beat them. There are cops everywhere so decreasing your heat takes forever and yet you're always increasing it when they're on your trail and if you take them down it just makes it worse.
-
Why does it feel like im trying to hold a fish I just landed while steering my car. Also yeah- vita version is supposed ot be great- finding a review of that version is a pain though
-
Been playing the vita version exclusively till I get my 360 copy on monday. My review is this: IF YOU HAVE A VITA AND YOU LIKE RACERS BUY THIS!!!
Yes its that damn good its exactly a replica of the console version and its smooth as shit. The online is fun as hell too, albeit with lower amounts of players. Autolog is now across all consoles due in part of Origin. MAF your stats are in my Vita version cause your on my XBL friends list.
-
Yeah Origin is actually used for something good
"It's also worth noting that Most Wanted might be the first game I've seen that justifies the existence of EA's Origin service, as it syncs your point total across all platforms, including the Vita version. This means that if you finish the game on one platform, you'll have enough points to immediately open the main races in single-player on another platform, but more importantly your multiplayer progress will carry over. I don't know that I'd recommend that people play the game on multiple platforms, but if you're planning on playing the portable version as well as its "big" counterpart, it's pretty cool to not have to unlock all those cars in both places." -- Jeff Gerstmann
-
Man, ditching cops picked up during a race is a goddamned bitch
-
Multiplayer is legit.
everyone post your origin info bruhs. i wanna challenge some duders (PC obvs)
-
AbuDave
-
That'll be patched, I'm sure. It feels 110% broken.
How do you ditch them in a cop escape mission? Seems near impossible on first glance.
-
Well the problem is once they're doing roadblocks good luck losing em- if you hit someone outside of an event its easy to lose a tier 1/2 situation- but in an event you'll easily be in 4/5 before the event ends- and then there you are the only car being chased by a 5/6 level pursuit. As Jeff Gerstmann pointed out- there isn't a penalty for getting caught and in fact there are milestones built around getting caught, but ultimately its just a pain in the ass.
-
My origin ID is bebpo.
Btw, the lack of achievements is annoying. I kind of hate non-steam PC games because I don't get achievements :(
-
lulz ORIGIN- oh well- least its not a complete fuckup this time- im on 360 though cause goddamnit origin I completely forgot your existed and didnt see the game on steam
-
The games growing on me. Definitely has that one more race, one more race feel. City actually does look pretty nice with the right effects enabled and time of day lighting.
I only have 2 real issues: One is the physics are just too heavy so you can't react quickly, you gotta plan it a second ahead. But because of the random factor with AI cars, traffic, cops that means it's easy to get unlucky and totally fuck up and have to restart. The other is the cops are badly implemented. I get they wanted to add in the cop stuff from Hot Pursuit, but if I wanted to play exciting cop races I would stick in HP. Then again if I wanted to play exciting sandbox racing I'd stick in BP; so the game is kind of stuck in the middle being a little of both but not as good as either.
It's definitely a fun arcade racer and I'm sure I'll stick a good 20+ hours into it. So far I'd give it about a B/B+ whereas BP is like A+++ and HP is like A-
-
Cop density is his game is a tad ridiculous
-
god damn this game is such a dickhead about everything
-
hehehehe
-
I like how a bunch of the mustang races are about taking insanely tight turns. GoDdaMnit its A mustanGGGGGGGG iT DOESNt Do thATTtt
oh well- as said elsewhere- the game brings me back despite all of the momentary rage
-
I don't think any cars do that in this game lolol
-
Bebpo, do you still think Hot Pursuit is better?
I haven't played a NFS in years and am interested in this for the cop chases.
-

the rally cars do. Impreza, Lancer, Focus. I prefer driving them over the super fast cars.

the cop chases suck. if you want that go play Hot Pursuit. dealing with the cops is the worst part of this game and does nothing but detract from the experience.
-
Put in some time with the game today. It's fun and it looks great although I do have some issues.
The cops are indeed kind of lame. Especially since they aren't a part of the multiplayer like in hot pursuit. Their presence therefore in this title seems forced since they are mostly annoying in the single player. And there are occasionally hitches in the gameplay. These momentary freezes that suck. It's not frame rate drop. Its just like occasionally pauses for like half a second. They don't happen a great deal but they happen often enough to be frustrating especially in a white knuckle racer like this. Also I prefer the GPS style map in forza horizon.
I am enjoying it though.
-
Stoney if your playing on 360 clear the cache and re-install the game. It will eliminate the pauses and fix a bug in the .xex of the game that causes some other issues that will add to load time. Thats what I was told directly from one of the dev's earlier today. They seem to have ideas on what needs to be fixed with the game and EA is letting Criterion fix those issues albeit in the form of patching. But at least they are being aggressive and testing the game like crazy to put out a patch to help with the cops, rubbernecking, and other issues. This game needed just a bit more time in the oven, EA knows that but they have a strict schedule to keep when it comes to the series.
-
Thanks. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
-
ya'll ya'll more people need to be posting their origin IDs. the stat tracking and autolog info is cross platform from what I've heard. so i think we can challenge each other.
mine is fistfulofmetal.
-
When I went into the menu on the 360 bersion I saw bebpo as a potential friend, so I added him- but I didnt see anyone else

I think my problem with the cops is that they remind me of the cops from Saints Row 3- you know, the kind that literally come at you from EVERY angle

i sent you a friends request a little bit ago. you may need to accept it on the PC? i dunno.
also protip: when trying to get away from coppers, click in the right stick when parked to turn the engine off. it'll make the meter drain like twice as fast.
-
I havent fired it up today- been out n about- i'll check a bit later
Also- awesome tip on the engine shut off
-
So in order for Origin to populate with the usernames from other platforms. You must have played a new Origin enabled title on that specific platform. Once that is accomplished Origin will link any potential friends you have. Currently their are only two Origin games, this and MOH: Warfighter. This is why even though the missus has MAF on her XBL friendslist it hasn't populated cause she hasn't played a new Origin enabled game on XBL. Once that happens I/she'd see your stats on the Vita version which I'm stealing from her currently cause I'm a dirty poor and refuse to buy my own Vita. I have to wait till monday for my Xbox copy.
-
so... i need to play this or MOH on the 360 so maf or anyone else will show up on my autolog on the PC
i got that right?
-
That or NfS: MW 2012 on 360. Once you've "linked" both accounts via the origin on that platform it will then gather the info and populate it in your game. And it will continue to monitor your gamertag/psn id for friends that share within your origin account.
