It has the most legit take on American higher education I've seen on tv.
I forgot all about this shit, but I actually remember almost every line now that I'm rewatching.

She's in high school, man: secondary education.
I remember it relying on really broad stereotypes in the early episodes, but getting better as it went along and toying a bit with our expectations of the characters. And it didn't stick around long enough to get stale.
Someone needs to make a live action movie with Aubrey Plaza.

I know she's in high school. I'm referring to the episode where they visit the college campus.

Fair enough! Also there was the finale/special where they're all about to graduate. I remember a running gag where her dad winds up under the impression that she wants to go to a military school and freaks out.

I remember hating Tom when he first showed up. Then he sort of grew on me and I enjoyed his presence despite the silly love triangle storyline.
Ol' Jake is still my favourite though. I really want to get the DVD set but no licenced music is tough.

My favorite character is probably still Mr. O'Neill.

Oh my god, I miss when MTV was awesome.
Are they going to bring back Beavis and Butthead for more seasons?

The episodes are written MTV has so far said it won't be producing them directly. But with the DVD/Bluray sales being so strong they might be able to produce it themselves, just not now. Comedy Central approached them with an offer for a new show though which might be the best we get for another 15+ years.
I wish the daria boxset wasn't complete shit in terms of video quality.

It's a great show and I really like how the characters are portrayed. They all heavily have flaws, even Daria herself and they do move away from being stereotypes. Though, I do think maybe later seasons are kind of weak, all in all it was a pretty great show.

Thanks to this thread, I've been watching this all day since I got off work. Really glad I bought the dvd set.
