that isn't a franchise. a correct response wouldve been resistance but I could name 5 microsoft franchises per 1 sony and 7 nintendo to 1 sony of rehashes

Pretty solid from the demo. It's better than I thought.

I always thought this Horizon's thing was a cheap cash in on the Forza brand but this seems pretty solid. It's like a more mainstream approach on Forza with street races and unusual races where you race planes, etc. You drive from event to event between races which is kind of cool. It's not just a cheap cash in like I expected. It feels a bit less simmy than Forza but still far more simmy than the Need for Speed series or something like that. The frame rate feels like a rock solid 30. Not one of those 30's where it means 30 and below. Game looks good.

I don't especially like the aesthetics in it. It's going more for a bro-DJ approach. I prefer the cold sort of sterile car nerd approach Forza takes but that's an opinion thing.

yeah, the overall style they're using makes me feel old.  I had to turn off the youthful music.

I really like the idea of a driving game.  Something like Test Drive Unlimited with better handling.  I don't care much for the actual racing as much as just driving around on courses.  That's what Horizons sounded like, but from the demo it's still a racing game with extra stuff to do between racing events.  And you're stuck in Colorado.  Couldn't tell if you could challenge other cars driving around like in Tokyo Xtreme Racer.

Seems good and all.  Just not what I wanted.

Is it true this game has cutscenes and story?

Is it true this game has cutscenes and story?

yes theyre as badly animated as the ones in Alan Wake.

Midnight Club LA had the best story of a racing game. About a immigrant coming to american with a dream of opening his own tuner shop :usa

also why is xbox live still $60 a year and why can't I decorate my FORD F150 with DINOSAURS without paying said $60 a year :piss

Is it true this game has cutscenes and story?

Yes, but they're largely short and easily ignored (but not skippable).

I tried the demo and really liked it. Haven't played a Forza since the original on OG xbox but I may pick this up, or is 3 a better pick?

4 is awesome, no reason to get 3.

This is more if you liked Test Drive Unlimited but wanted something more "hip"

I liked TDU a lot. The first one. It was cool to drive around Hawaii, not sure if I wanna drive around Oregon or wherever Forza Horizon is set.

well it IS really fun just to drive around and listen to like Kyuss. the only thing that sux is the xbox custom music player is shite. Its either well integrated or shite and sadly its shite in this game. Second you can't adjust the time of day so you can't just drive around in the dark :piss

TDU was awesome and so laid back. This is like TDU on cocaine.

this game has possibly the worst radio stations ever. and the worst dj's ever with some of the corniest corporate jokes ever. you'd think british developers would have better tast ein music

The music on the Pulse radio is pretty good (Miike Snow, Naked & Famous, Empire of the Sun :bow2). The dubstep channel does have Blue Monday so it's not all bad.

The in between stuff is terrible though, I wonder if it's the British guys are trying for parody instead? Would make more sense.

Played a bit of the full game today. It rocks. Really fun to just drive around in the world. The smartglass thing is up and I tried to run it on my PC but couldn't quite figure it out.

I picked this game up on black friday and I've been glued to it.  I love it.  I've needed a TDU fix and a TDU-Style Forza is amazing.

Man this game is so awesome. I recently have started to put in some serious time in it after it sort of got crushed by the fall blitz and this is one fucking under-rated title. It's great. Music is great. Perfect blend of sim and fun. Graphics are great. Frame rate is rock fucking solid. Got my CSR wheel setup for it now. Just tried to take down fistful's time with a mini-cooper on some circuit and failed miserably but had a ball doing it. Game is so good.

Yup. Its only weak spot is the online multiplayer imo. Leaderboards and the whole Rivals setup is great though.

I'm not sure if I want the Rally DLC. Anyone here tried it?

i liked this game but it just felt too sterile to me. if you want a proper way of doing atmosphere and ridiculousness you gotta look at Midnight Club LA. that game oozed style, this just felt like some marketing person wanted to hit THE KIDS

All Forza games feel sterile. Horizon did the most to get away from that.

That's interesting because I've found the multiplayer great with the group of friends I play with, while the single player feels boring and tedious. The speed traps/zones are pretty good though.

I enjoy both aspects although I agree the multiplayer is really fun with friends. I like that cat and mouse game.

I bought it but haven't tried it yet. The user impressions I read for it were really good.

Yeah and some of the really long tracks are great fun. There's just something about point to point races.
