My gf just stunned me by saying the 3rd one is her fav, so I need to show her she's wrong by providing some empirical evidence like this poll.
-
They're all pretty mediocre. I suppose the first one is slightly better.
-
Whichever one had Lea Thompson in it.
Edit: Apparently she is in all three. I guess I'll go with the first one then.
-
there's very little dispute that the first entry is the only great one. They get worse and worse as they go.
-
I think the first one is the best movie, but I also think the second one is just damn cool with the future stuff I loved as a kid. Third one is still good.
-
First one is the best, your gf is dum.
-
The second one falls in to the trap of thinking people just wanted a homage to the first film in sequels. "Hey remember that skateboard chase? Here it is again, but in the future! Hey remember prom night? here it is again, etc. etc."
-
The only acceptable answer: the first
-
The fuck? The answer is clearly the first one.
-
The one with BEST Jennifer.

There was a dark middle bit. And then an amazing western end. It's basically on the Indiana Jones level of strong trilogies.

Is it the creepy dwarf?
-
the first, but i'm most nostalgic about the second.
-
The first is definitely best, but I do really like the second one for all the future stuff and the premise of having time travel fuck up his previous time travel. It would have been neat if the third movie just ended with an endless recursion of infinite Martys and Biffs screwing up that one part of time.
-
I can only remember seeing the 1st one sooo... I guess the 1st one. heh.
-
First is the best but the third is an easy second place. Second film is the worst.
-
the second purely due to biff screentime.
the time circuits downgrading marty's girlfriend must've been a major drag, must've been relieving to know he could dash back to '55 and have some sweet matriarchal honey on tap.
-
First one
-
Second one's better.
-
this is the least tough question of all-time with regards to movie trilogies
yes, even easier than "which matrix movie is the best"
Let's be honest here, is there any movie trilogy where it's difficult to pick one movie that's definitively the best?
-
Second one's better.
Yes, but marginally. Second and First are almost tied, with Third wishing it was as good.
Who ever voted 3rd should be lepered
-
i've never even SEEN back to the future 3

Toy Story? I guess there are a couple where you could argue about 2 out of the 3, like Die Hard, Alien, etc.

Alien, Bourne, Godfather, Mad Max, Toy Story, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars?
-
The Man With No Name Trilogy is the best trilogy. All of those other trilogies are flawed. I've never seen BTTF3 and don't want to, Toy Story 2 is boring as is 3, Godfather 3 is flawed as hell, Die Hard 2...lol, Alien 3 is too much of a weak link though it's still solid.
Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, out of those film trilogies are the only ones that feel like they have a sense of cohesion, and even then, their films vary rapidly in quality.
-
The first two Star Wars movies are great [with the second likely edging out the first for most people], but it's really obvious that the wheels are starting to come off the franchise by the third entry. Which is pretty much exactly what I'd say about the Mad Max trilogy.
Indiana Jones is another good trilogy, with a lot of competition between 1 and 3. 2 is the weak link there, but I think just about everything would agree it's far more preferable to where the franchise eventually ended up.
-
Best trilogy.

Vengeance trilogy is another trilogy where all three films are amazing.

Your question was not "is there any movie trilogy where it's difficult to pick one movie that's definitively the worst?" The first two movies in both those trilogies are extremely close in quality to the point where it's difficult to say which is "definitively the best" (though I prefer The Empire Strives Back and The Road Warrior).

She is clearly an idiot; do not impregnate her, or you'll have half-idiot children.

She is backpeddling, she says its her fav but not the best. DAMAGE CONTROL.
