Our collective voices have been heard so lets continue this tradition.

The Seventh Annual Evilbore Secret Santa!

PLEASE READ THIS POST IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE SIGNING UP OR POSTING IN THIS THREAD, QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME.

Hello everyone and welcome to Santa Bz' first attempt at a Secret Santa, and probably last due to the upcoming Mayan Apocalypse.

In brief here are the rules.

If you can't comply with these, don't sign up. If you have questions please do ask them. I've setup an email address specifically for anyone here that wishes to ask questions. It will also be how you will get the form to submit all of your information. Please note that your information will be kept private except to give to your Secret Santa, I am only using this as a means to keep things together easier for myself.


*ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO PARTICIPATE I don't want to even let you know what I have instore for someone who doesn't follow through. If complication's arise or you know something is not right with your package please contact me before January 1st 2013. I'm being a bit lenient but that is cause I know we are getting a late start to this and I want to provide time for any potential kinks due to holiday shipping.
*You should expect to spend $25-$35 on your Secret Santa (before shipping.) This is only a soft requirement as to the minimum you should spend. If you wish you can spend as much as you want, I don't want to crush the gifting spirit and you don't need to break the bank to make someone's day better. This could potentially be the last Secret Santa Evilbore ever has.
*Please do not send anything that may be considered dangerous, illicit, or hazardous. We don't want packages getting into the hands of a local drug enforcement agent, or worse a custom's agent.
*Remember this is a gift, and as with any gift you should wrap it. You don't want to have your gift spoiled prematurely. Lots of online stores offer gift wrapping. If nothing else please do include a card or a personal greeting to keep up the awesome gift giving spirit.
* Please try to send the package so it will arrive on or before Christmas. There will be a grace period for late packages, since it's a very busy mail time. Anything after January 1st 2013 and you best have a damn good reason for why your package didn't end up at your Secret Santa's doorstep, especially if I haven't received a PM or Email telling me whats going on.

Okay! If you've read all of that and decided you still want to participate, here's what you need to do:

1.Email me at: thebore.comsecretsanta@gmail.com
2.Title your email: SS Submission (USERNAME GOES HERE)
3.Include your real name and address in the email.

I will then send you a link to the newly created form so that you might submit your information in a easier fashion. Do note that if you do need to make changes to anything submitted I can do that for you.

Once you've submitted the required information please post in this thread the following for others to see:
a) What country/state/province your package will be sent to?
b) Will you ship internationally? (flexibility on this is appreciated, we have a lot of international members)
c) Your age range (this helps to make sure no illicit materials get sent to minors, plus old bore likes old things like vinyl records)
d) Anything in particular that you want? (include game systems, preferred media, clothes size, and any other relevant info)
e) Any wishlists that your potential Secret Santa can use to make it easier to purchase things for you.
f) Anything you do not wish to receive? Cause no one wants to get a fruit cake for Christmas.


When that is complete your submission will go into"Santa Bz' Magical Stocking Stuffer of Mayan Doom."

*The cut-off date is November 16th. Email's and PM's will be sent out the evening of November 17th. I will include the information submitted by in the form to your Secret Santa so you don't have to search for all of the information.
*Once you know who you're shopping for, have fun! Remember this is about the experience, so get creative have fun with it and best of all get your package out early!
*Remember to get your package out well before the Mayan doomsday of 12/21/12. I will be emailing each and every participant on this day to ask if you've shipped your package to your Secret Santa.

Some other things to note:
- If you want, you can include your name/username on the gift to your recipient. I will post a video of me picking out of "Santa Bz' Magical Stocking Stuffer of Mayan Doom" after January 1st 2013. I'll also make a listing of those that were matched up, if you wish to stay anonymous please indicate that in your registration email.
- If you're shipping internationally remember to keep the weight light so you can spend more on your Secret Santa. There are lots of calculators online to determine how much your package will cost to ship. If you're having problems because of shipping price let me know asap so that we can work something out!
- If you wish you can also send me any tracking number's so that I can provide timing information to your Secret Santa. It will also serve as confirmation that you've sent out your gifts.
- If you wish to do multiple Secret Santa's I will consider it if there is enough positive feedback and I can match you up with someone else that would be willing to do it.

Forget all that nonsense with emailing back and forth and confirming shit. We jacking neogaf's idea and making a form. Please note I've changed some of the details of this op to reflect the new submission procedure.


UPDATE 11/17/12

Sign ups are now closed. Those that expressed interest but did not submit their information will not be considered. The Stocking Stuffer is being prepared as of this post. Results of the selections will be sent via both PM and Email later this evening or early tomorrow for some of you.

If you have any additional questions about your Tiny Tim or Tina that you'd like me to ask them please feel free to contact me, I'll keep it anonymous. Remember to get your gifts out early and wrap that shit up!

The email's are a rolling in slowly and the spreadsheet's are ready to go. I've yet to receive any pm's (looking at you Borys :P.)

One question though I wish to pose to the community. Is it alright if I too participate in this? As moderator and organizer I didn't know if that would be acceptable or not. It will still be a blind drawing for my secret santa('s) just like yours but instead of receiving something I will be sending something. Consider it a bonus secret santa gift from me Santa Bz' to you!

Also if you're requesting any movies/games please include your region. I don't want someone to get a region C bluray when they can only watch a region A. Or worse a region locked video game.

I've gone and made this a bit easier by creating a form to be filled out.

Those that have already submitted their email address I've sent you a invitation to complete the new form. Sorry about the hassle but only two of you will have to resubmit your info.

I like Legos. Not the little kid playsets tho, ones that you would put up on a shelf. the architect sets specifically are pretty neat.

Obvs video games and movies are easy but I tend to buy everything I want when they're out so it would be difficult to get something I don't or won't already have. If movies, I like horror movies and sci-fi. Games, anything but indie puzzle or jrpgs really. I'll put up a list of my current library of movies/games. I own a PS3, 360, and PC. Prefer PC games.

Comics are cool. I like Batman... The Walking Dead, or something more obscure. I don't own that many. I don't like silly campy stuff. Mature and violent is my thing, etc etc.

In the end, if you can think of something cool, i'll be cool with it. If it's not from what I've already said, whatevs. No biggie.

Well If that's the case then you should all know I was here from the get go when Willco invited me via the NeoGaf IRC channel some many moons ago. So I've been around the block here, I've been lepered and resurrected but never icon'd. I was thinking its cause I've somehow pissed off so many people they put me all on ignore.

We are currently up to 7, 8 if you include Bebpo but he hasn't finished the form yet. Yes the form idea was awesome, I didn't even know they had something like that till I saw the neogaf thread. I saw it as an opportunity to make it a lot easier to get the info needed.

I always had a Word document and Excel spreadsheet wtih everything, and then I'd write everyone's names on a piece of paper and we'd draw them out of a hat.

I collect coffee cups, so I'm always looking to add new interesting pieces to the collection. I'm also looking for cool stuff to decorate my apartment with, so if you could find anything Doctor Who, Borderlands, nerdy/geeky to put up in it that would be awesome.  Also, I'm trying to build up a bluray collection, so any flicks that you would consider a man's must-have could be thrown in. If none of that works, send me booze or other cool stuff from your part of the world.

Went on a spontaneous trip up to San Francisco today cause I was frustrated, cause I couldn't find anything for my tiny tim locally. Ended up buying stuff for all 3 of my tiny tims. Now I have to wrap it all up and send it off. I hope people get my sense of humor, however dry and unfunny it might be.

Got almost everything together for my package today, just finishing something up and then sending it out.  Hoping it gets there before Christmas, but I was drawing a lot of blanks with this person.  Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

Also, apparently my incoming gift was supposed to have been delivered a week ago, and the Post Office didn't leave a door notice for me, and has now lost the package.   :lol   Gonna go back tomorrow and try to get it all lined out.

You would be most correct sir! I had no idea of your personal tastes so I did some snooping of my own and tried to come up with something personal. I was originally only going to include the wii card, but thought since you also have a 3ds/WiiU that you could use that too!

I wanted to get you a USB controller but thought since you already were invested into the VC games that you'd appreciate having an authentic experience with them.

And please for the love of god let me know how those chips are. That or victimize someone's taste buds for me. And make them wear the shades! :p

Yeah the eShop card is awesome! Think I might get some 3DS games I'm lacking like Push/Crashmo.

And the controller is awesome. I thought it was too much to hope for concave Y/X buttons but they're there. :o L/R are a bit squishy but they're not really necessary for my SNES games.

I dunno about the chips, I'll try them but I can't guarantee I'll eat the whole bag. :lol Hopefully my roommate will help out if that's the case.

My hope with this gift is that you have a bookshelf in your office that this can be easily hidden on for when you have clients you can't stand.  I was going to send some booze to go with it, but apparently all the major shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS) really frown on that now.  :lol

As for the book, I wasn't really sure which one to get you, and I wasn't sure if you had read this already.  But I poured over your posts in the reading thread and ran all the books you said you had read and liked, then put them through a generator of book suggestions and this one came up every time.

Yeah I had to open up the box early to make sure it wasn't a return package. I saved the book and a couple other things in their gift-wrap until christmas, but I immediately attacked the lollipops the day I got the package. Or I actually gave one to a friend and she shared it with someone else which was kinda horrible but awesome in a good way.

I actually like the localish/noveltiness of the gifts more than anything from Amazon, can't wait to see what the remaining ones are. I kinda felt bad since I know nothing about vinyls and the beatle so I just went by your wishlist. If I could have found a Bay Area themed sex toy, I totally would have sent it to you.

I used to send care packages to the missus on a weekly basis via UPS when we were in our LDR status. So I got very good at getting the most out of a shipping box. I got you Netrunner because it was the absolute best CCG of that first era.  Better than, i think, Magic. It was recently brought back into print by another company with the collectable nature stripped out which should make it easier to find players.  it's really complex but super unique in that sphere.  Totally awesome game. (now they just need to bring back Battletech's CCG.  That would be amazing)

Not so secret now! :maf I don't usually get Mint Slice for my secret Santa but we had some people from the US here for work in December and they couldn't stop raving about them. Those and the tim tams are god tier stuff, especially the double coats. Inflicting vegemite on foreigners is great fun though.

It was either Dance Star Hits or Invisimals for PSP which were lying around on my desk. Hope you enjoy the chocolates though!

Well I'm glad it finally made its way to you. You said you were a clutter bug so this might help you clean things up a bit in the office. Those were some things I thought were really useful to use. And you also asked for something interesting. I think the toilet book constitutes as being interesting.

Yeah I knew about HMH on PC but Borys said "NO PC GAMES" on his wishlist. I'm glad you liked the gifts, shame that the Polish mail service beat the package up so bad and probably ate half of the Necco wafers on you (I personally love those but a lot of people don't - I wanted to get you a small cross section of very traditional American snacks - hence the Cracker Jacks and sunflower seeds and M&Ms). Enjoy the games (ROF and HMH are favorites of mine) and what's left of the food!

Resonance of Fate is a great game, but I hit a wall of massive hair pulling difficulty about half way through the game and shelved it. I don't think I remember the play mechanics enough to jump back in.

Yeah, there was one "dungeon" that just continued pummeling my bunghole (in a bad way) so I just gave up. Fun game, though.

Dude, patience is the fence around wisdom. My fleshtube is any moment going to bust out a child, so I'm going with that excuse. If my uncle had died I'd probably use that though.

Nope. Games are region-free, but movies have a different region coding from DVDs.

The Blu-ray might not work due to it being mastered a different frame or hz rate or something like that. My UK copy of Exit Through the Gift Shop doesn't work on my PS3 because of that. A lot of UK BBC releases have the same issue.

I wish the PS3 was region-free. The BDA are real hardasses about BD region encoding, compared to how fast and loose some manufacturers played with DVD region coding.

Cool. I think it's Edo period'ish, I asked an expert and he said "old as fuck". It's a raw silk mount, with museum glass, and a j- type frame.
