Title: Crashmo, anyone?
Post by: Shaka Khan on November 24, 2012, 08:21:09 AM
Sequel to my 2011 3DS GOTY. Anyone else playing this?

The game is aesthetically identical, but the mechanics are almost entirely different; you slide blocks 'til they fall and form staircases. Whoopie, right?

It feels much looser and allows for much more freedom of movement and controls, something that may overwhelm anyone who's used to how rigid and fixed the prequel was.

I'm 30 levels in, still discovering new ways and ideas to solve levels. So far it's as good as the Pushmo. Worth the $9, imo.

I'm only 137 levels into Pushmo and I want to complete that one first.

I'm 120 levels into Pushmo myself, but went ahead and bought this anyway. If they keep up flow of ideas coming at the same pace, I might end up enjoying it a bit more than Pushmo.

On the other hand, due to the relative freedom of the mechanics, I'm wary of user levels being not as tight as a result. Campaign levels are great, though.

Come to think of it, it might be a good idea to finish Pushmo first. The mechanics are radical enough to make it hard to jump between games. Especially with the identical style, which makes it hard to re-calibrate!

I really enjoy Pushmo, but at the point I'm at now it feels more like work than fun.

I'm cool on buying stuff on Nintendo's horrible network.

Yeah, that's also a good point. My initial plan was to wait for this new Nintendo Network ID thing, but no.
