How loud is your family?
My aunt and uncle are here. My uncle quiet and reserved and my aunt loud and...just loud. I even groaned when I heard she was coming over because I knew it was going to be a zoo for the next few days.
Goddamit black folks can be loud. Now every race.can be loud but fuck. These niccas are screaming their heads off for no reason. I like to hope I sound calm though even when I get to know people I can sometimes let it all out and go full on bark mode if I'm having enough fun.
Now, the key Herr is the difference between black Americans and straight up Africans. Africans who come to America always play it cool in public.
We must discuss this.

One of my brothers is super loud. He never learned the difference between an inside and outside voice. We used to sneak into the basement and play Smash Brothers after the "no more tv/computer" cut off time of the day, and he'd be so fucking loud that my parents would know we were playing games. I'm serious, this nicca would be yelling "turn special items off, guys! Why do you always pick Link, pick someone else!" :lol
My dad isn't loud unless he's watching sports. Well, he also gets super loud when he's around his black friends from Detroit or his brothers, at which point his dialect becomes more urban lol.
The only time my mom is loud is in the theater. She screams and jumps at everything; my dad said when they went to see Lincoln she was jumping whenever someone on screen slammed their hand on the desk, and she kept loudly saying "there are stereos everywhere, this is truly surround sound!"
Outside of that, my only other loud family member is my mom's oldest brother. He's the uncle I've talked about before who constantly turns every conversation into a rant about Roman history, James Bond, or the bible. It's almost impossible to talk to him due to this, and I think he likes me because I'm the only person who patiently listens to each rant; I like Roman history

My family is Jamaican so they're naturally loud. All of them except me for some reason. I have this one aunt though who is louder than everyone else and will sounds like a fucking banshee when she laughs. And she's ALWAYS joking around and laughing. I love her, but I can't be around her for too long.

Today all I wanted was peace and quiet. Instead I get "HOW YOU CONNECT THIS TO THE INTERNET", "YOU DIDNT SAY GOOD MORNING, NOW SAY GOOD MORNING", "I'M GETTING MY SAUSAGE" etc
Fucking holiday season I tell ya what, boyyyyy.

My parents want me to come over for New Years Eve for a fish fry, but I know what they really want is me to come over and get various electronics (that I set up on CHRISTMAS) to work again, plus bug me about various subjects and argue amongst themselves about mundane stuff. A typical semi-loud argument from my parents
dad: we're almost out of oatmeal
mom: no we're not, you just want to go to the store
dad: but I had oatmeal yesterday and -
mom: you DID NOT have oatmeal yesterday, are you kidding me?
dad: I had oatmeal tho, and noticed it was almost gone :(
mom: when did you have oatmeal?!
dad: you weren't home! i had some around 6PM remember
mom: how would I remember if I wasn't home! so you had oatmeal yesterday huh
dad: YES
mom: well why didn't you buy some yesterday!
dad: because I was eating oatmeal

I'm not sure which I'd prefer, general loudness or my mother's constant complaining. When she was bitching about how she's fat and can't get around anymore the other day, I told her she shouldn't feel bad, because if there was an Olympic event for complaining she'd probably medal.

My entire family has southern accents. Being from Kentucky, you would think this doesn't annoy me. But my dad is originally from Milwaukee so I sorta picked up a more Northern accent as I was growing up. My drawl is pretty understated compared to even my dad's.
Now that I live (at least for the next week) in Illinois, whenever I go home I pick up on it immediately and it bugs the hell out of me
Even worse, I'm moving back in a week.
