I hated how everythign was slow in persons 1 & 2. And also how do dungeons work in persona 4? Is it the same dungeon you crawl through or is it mor elike zelda in the sense that you find dugeons and go through them?
-
It's the same game except with horrible dating sim padding.
-
The dungeons are randomly generated and all are pretty much the same except for different backgrounds and palette swapped monsters. Basically you just try to get through them as quickly as possible to get back to the dating sim.
-
Shit. :( Why must it have a dating sim element. :(

In Persona 4, you have to unlock dungeons by doing pre-dungeon story line stuff involving a murder mystery. There isn't one dungeon you crawl through, there are multiple ones with their own design sensibilities. In that sense, Persona 4 is more like Zelda. Also, in P4, dungeons aren't pre-made, they're random and have specific gimmicks dependent on the boss. Like for example a sauna for a character going through sexuality/gender issues, or a strip club for someone who wants to break out of their isolated shell, or a dungeon where you keep getting lost and have to find your way to the end if they don't really want you there.
Battles tend to be fast, and if you're tired of dungeon crawling, you can always do simulation or role playing related activities.

Wrong. Void quest is nothing like Kanji's sauna.

It's not really a dating sim. Haters just use that term because they're stupid on top of being haters. You specific individuals that have certain Arcana. Each demon has an arcana type, and by hanging out with these people you level up that arcana enabling you to make better Persona. It's not like it's fucking Sakura Wars where the game is about picking which girl you find to be the most uguu. It's more like a Bioware game where you can be on good standing with a character, and this has more gameplay ramifications than your typical Bioware game.

When the game came out everyone was talking about Kanji's sauna, or how badass void quest was, or how the dungeons were a vast improvement over P3's. Try again. As for the battles, I fondly remember,"RISE IS TOO HARD FUCK" and "FUCK SHADOW TEDDY" rants.
