I'll be in from the jump. Will revive old thread once NDA phase is lifted.  Alpha was great, expectations are high.

Kinda wished they would let you apply through your SE account instead of this separate thing. Oh well guess i'll just apply 23 additional times

Shhhhh not supposed to tell anyone about the orgasm fate system yet!

Square's real plan to turn some profit will probably first be shown to the masses at E3, and open to all soon after.

Post lots of impressions flamenco. I'm not a fan of MMOs and I don't plan on playing the, but for some reason I wanna experience it vicariously through you.

Well, let me tell you guys, this is one incredible MMO.

I started the game with the character creator.  I kinda got stuck on that screen for a while, just playing back the various female voices over and over again.  There was something about them I couldn't put my finger on, but my hat's off to the voice actresses for capturing the very essence of femaledom.  Once I finished with the character creator, I began the game.  A helpful fellow greeted me in the town and taught me how to control my character and navigate the menus.   He was a polite young man and I am greatly indebted to him, but for some reason, he ceased to speak to me.  His final words to me instructed me to head to the guild.  Me being a green horn, I thought it better to heed the words of my mentor.

Upon entering the guild, I spoke with the guildmaster, as any amateur adventurer must do before they conquer the world of Eorzea.  She had a slight edge to her--I could tell that she had met many an adventurer who had declared they would become the best.  She seemed to appreciate that I kept my declarations to myself and instructed me to go on my very first quests.  These involved talking to various people around town...after I had talked to these people and completed a task in which I danced in front of a young girl, I felt the experience adding to my character.  I then touched a big crystal in the center of town and it was revealed to me that I was just one of many adventurers in this enchanted land.  However, I was the only one whose name did not seem to originate in the orient.

The guildmaster then instructed me to slay beasts in the wood.  She has very particular tastes.  3 squirrels, 6 fungii, and 3 ladybugs, I believe it was.  Being the first time I had wielded a bow and fought living creatures, the blood pulsed through my veins as the experienced enriched me to a higher plane of existence.  Upon slaying them, I felt no mercy as I picked the gold pieces from their still quivering bodies.  I was feeling rather superior to my fellow adventurers, so I shot the level 15 treant in the area to piss him off, then ran away as he began to ravage their weak bodies.  Finally, 5 of them managed to conquer him and I shared in the spoils.

When I logged out of the world, I came to and realized that I had become completely immersed in this amazing universe. When I return, my adventures will take me to various parts of the town to see people I need to hand things to.  I imagine one of my quests will send me off into the wild, where bigger squirrels, and bigger fungii, and bigger ladybugs await.  I shall keep persevering until I've taken down the biggest ladybug of them all and picked a bow made of gold and fairy pubes from its bloody carcass.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
it's an mmo.  it looks nice but stutters at all graphics settings, max or min.  it controls okay with a 360 controller.  I'll prob keep logging in every once in a while.  I don't really know how to evaluate mmos ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yes the yellow question marks are pretty nice in this one.  I don't remember wow's being this flashy.

The combat is like navigating windows slightly faster than normal
