Time to retire Warren.
-
His fall has been incredibly depressing.
-
How bad did the second one do in relation to the first?
-

4 times the consoles, 1/4th the sales.
-
I don't care, never played any Mickey.
-
in b4 people saying the "steampunk mature" version seen in the concept art would save the series or have a chance in hell of being released ever.
-
interesting concept ruined by terrible mechanics. he kinda deserves to be a failure at the moment
-
Anyone can put out a bad game and eventually time will pass us all by. That's kinda forgivable.
What's a bit more annoying is that in recent years he has become increasingly cranky and opinionated about the game industry in general yet he seemed very defensive about the reception Epic Mickey got. You can't have it both ways.
-
He should join the Sphinctersoft team and get back to making quality games.
-
Sad for the team, but I prefer Spector as far away from Disney as possible. Nothing good has come from his time there. Epic Mickey was kinda promising, but with the second one being worse in every regard I doubt that the team would have ever had the chance to make a better game.
(And since that 3DS one was already terrible, I make Disney guilty for all of this. If two theoretically pretty good teams fail to deliver miserably, there has to be something going wrong somewhere)
Actually, Spector is one of the people I'd like to see making something with Kickstarter.
-
I'm more offended by his run of the DuckTales comic, which was the most horrible Duck-related thing I have EVER. READ.

It's Disney, of course a steampunk mature concept art version wouldn't have released because they need their family friendly.
Despite the fact that would've gotten a hell of a lot of people that aren't interested in family friendly Disney anymore (so, people like me?) interested in the game.
I'm not delusional, but shit you know?
-
no, i dont think hardly anyone would give a shit about a video game with a "mature" mickey mouse
-
Yeah, Disney needs kids to sell. The only people who want mature Disney are certified perverts.

But the only people who actually care about there being a "mature" Disney game are a handful of adult manchildren. If they're going to make a mature steampunk game, then they should just do that, not try to cram Mickey and Co. into it, too.
And really, Dishonored is a better Warren Spector game than Warren Spector has made in about a decade.

His pen and paper rpgs look interesting...

Warren Spector's fur fetish confirmed. He needs to make a new Tiny Toons games or a mature steampunk Heathcliff RPG or something.
-
save the mature steampunk mickey mouse for hot topic tshirts kthnxbye
-
shoulda made Wii games
The "leave Nintendo curse" strikes another victim.
Rare
Factor 5
Silicon Knights
Junction Point
:violin

It was an admittedly dumb joke, haha.
That's probably not too far off the mark, but I feel the... lack of... quality in the first game is more the issue. Apparently sales dropped off super fast for the first.

I have this, somewhere in my US game backlog. I thought it was just Costikyan's thing.

Isn't Kingdom Hearts kind of a steampunk, marginally mature game?
I'm asking with a serious face, because I've never played them.

kingdom hearts is targeted at young teens

Well, then.

Epcot Center is just the perfect example of withering, tattered beauty, like the years of my childhood drifting away the older I get. (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=47041320&postcount=48)
Dark.
Mature.

Well when I was at Epcot back in 2006, it was very dated and kind of a shithole. Not sure if they re-did it since then, but I remember being real disappointed (especially after loving it in the late 80's... seems like it didn't change very much since then)
-
even when I went there as a kid, it was lame. that's why they only show you the outside in commercials! It probably looks like the epic mickey concept art nowadays.
-
I only watched The Lion King all the way through and that was because it was the movie everybody my age (7-8) saw.
I have no nostalgic feelings towards Disney. I couldn't make it through Up and I could only watch a few minutes of Ratatouille before I got bored.

Your disdain for Pixar is unacceptable. :meeble

In order to change anything, they have to spend money; something WDW won't do unless something burns down.
