It was so freakin unnecessary, genuinely hilarious. Nick Cage is an enigma

Who knows why he signed up for this one. Maybe the script looked good on paper?

Well, the original was a (off-kilter and unique) classic, and I bet if you read the script without seeing the movie, you'd think it was pretty ridiculous and bad. Maybe Nick figured the same thing here? Even in the little snippets in this clip, I'm seeing Nick clumsily ape Edward Woodward's somewhat desperate, frustrated performance in the original. I don't remember him beating on this many women, though. . .

Haven't watched The Pest in years but John Leguizamo is one crazy Cuban/South American (I forget where he hails from)

John Leguizamo is pretty incredible in Spun. He's actually a pretty decent actor.

I find hes always hilarious. "Oh yeah Im gonna get my man glaze all over your fucking tits"
Spun was a pretty lacking film IMO. Im not really into shit that takes itself too seriously.

I'm not sure the movie could make up its mind about how serious it wanted to be. It seemed to go from one extreme to another, back and forth. I still found it pretty entertaining, and his character to be one of the highlights.

I was in a very apprehensive mood when I watched Spun, just because it was all drugs drugs drugs and that reminded me how much I hate Requiem for a fucking Dream. And the protagonist pissed me off. But John L's charactr was awesome, as always. Hes pretty smashing in Land of the Dead also.
